Trim Replacement Instructions

I picked up my FL5 last night and discovered a scratch on the front door trim. Is it easy to replace? I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks!

If it's new then take it back to the dealer and point it out to them.

it’s out of state, I believe they might ship the new trim to me, and I might need to do it myself.

Try having a detailer who knows how to use a machine and to try to remove it, if it's not way to deep.

They are a bit of a pain in the ass to remove, but not out of the question. There is a screw underneath the weather stripping, and they are also attached with 3M tape and I think small tabs so you gotta slide them up when removing, but that might be just the rear quarter trim.

It helped to use this tool to release the trim from the 3M tape. You'll also spend some time removing any remaining 3M tape stuck to your car. Just be careful and take your time, especially with the top trim along the window.

I replaced the matte trim on my Sport Touring with the ones from the Type R.

Maguiar's PlastX will remove light scratches. It's a very gentle polish. Use a micro fiber cloth and rubout by hand.

I had a similar scratch on mine. I used 3D One and it buffed right out.
