With the Integra Type S coming it makes a lot of sense that the FL5 will be lower production numbers than the FK8. There was no competing product produced by the same parent company back then…

FL5 + ITS should get pretty close to the FK8 production numbers barring any massive recession or another pandemic. But you’re delusional if you think they’ll make a bunch of FL5 and ITS. The market for enthusiast $50K cars that are manual only isn’t that big.

Guess only time will tell. I think it will be easy to gauge after the media scrum for the ITS.

I’ve been into Honda of Waldorf twice and they are still firm with their nearly 20k markup. I came in initially on the 15th and Was dealing with Jeremiah. He said they were firm at 18k over MSRP. I left but would reach out every couple days. He then text me on the 21st that someone had put down a deposit for the car and was coming to pick it up. Well I went by the dealership on the 28th and the car was still sitting there. And they were still firm at 18k over.

I drive by there once a week on my way to get my haircut so I can give you guys some updates in regards to the markup.

It really does feel like all the hardcore fanatics on this forum got theirs and paid their premium. So maybe! Also am I the only one who thinks it would be absolutely insane that the production numbers aren’t close to the FK8. With this grand pony show they did with the unveil and the walk around an and then track drives and then regular drives. I mean they are even down to loaning these out to car reviewers with under 100k subs. It just seems with so much effort the thought that there’s only gonna be 10k of these things in the US is insane. But hey I guess we live in crazy times. Shrug.

There’s no way we only get 10k. Doesn’t Japan have 10k orders to fulfill and the USA will absolutely get more than Japan.

The FK8 had almost 50,000 units worldwide of which nearly 20,000 were sold in the USA. Mind you the 2020 and 2021 model years were destroyed due to Covid, chip shortages and the like. The factory in the UK wasn’t even allowed to be open for Several months in 2020 and 2021.

Like I said, I would not be surprised if the US saw much less than 10k over the three year run. fK8 had 4k each year over 5 years to US. FL5 might see 2k per year for three years to US.

Which is why it didn’t have squeaky seats. ? in all seriousness the anniversary year should have been set for a Japan build and then after move it back to the UK plants. We get volume and the fanboys still have something to brag about at cars and coffee.

Honda no longer produces in the UK so they need to bring production here if anywhere. US plant(s) can produce plenty of vehicles for us.
