Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum, so sorry in advance if this is not the right section to ask this.

A couple of weeks ago I got my new FL5, and after getting home I noticed something a bit odd with the seat belt positioning. The buckle (it seems to be bolted to the side of the seat) sits quite far forward, and when the belt is clipped in, it bends awkwardly around the buckle instead of following a smooth curve. It looks and feels a bit off, and makes me think that something might not be correct — the belt will probably wear more on one side over time. It’s not my only car, but this is a first for me.

I have added a photo so it’s easier to understand what I mean.

I’m quite tall and a big guy, so I drive with the seat in the lowest position possible. I’m wondering if that could make the angle worse, but the buckle moves together with the seat, so maybe not.

I‘d say that it happens on both sides, but on the passenger side there’s a plastic cover behind base, so that one clearly can’t move backwards. On the driver’s side, I can see a metal bracket and a bolt, so I was wondering if that bracket can be rotated slightly backward if I loosen the bolt, or it won’t do nothing. The belt buckle has a movement range, but only forwards, it won’t move backwards more than what you can see in the photo.

Is this how it is on all FL5s, or maybe something can be adjusted?

Sorry if my English isn’t perfect, it’s not my first language.
Thanks in advance, and greetings from Spain!

are you reclined far back?
No. It is a thing I looked at (it has been driving me mad) but to avoid the ugly curve, I would need to be driving really uncomfortable. I use the “normal” inclination, a point more forward than in my daily - When I grab the top of the steering wheel, my arms are nearly fully extended. I can measure tomorrow the inclination, would be interesting.

Thanks for your reply!

mine is kinda the same way. i’d have to sit extremely upright for it not to have that angle on the seat belt. 3 years, so far no issue with it permanently putting a weird crease or anything on the seat belt. i feel the ergonomics of these seats in this car are not great. but that will be a highly unpopular opinion.

Thanks for your reply, I’m less worried now. I will measure the inclination of the seat today (I guess at the logo area) and take a closer look at the anchor bolt area.

PS: I’m not a fan of the ergonomics nor many other things in the car, but it’s not my daily and buying the Porsche would have been an even worse financial decision 😅

Sorry for the late reply, I have not been able to visit the car earlier this week.
The headrest is perfectly vertical (where the “Type R” logo is placed), and the back area has ~13° of inclination.

I have made the test to rise the seat to the maximum and realised that the seat moves in relation to the seat-belt buckle. In the max height position, there is no strange bent with the seatbelt. So, I have concluded that the car was designed for short people, not for 1,9m+ big guys, and that disassembling the side bolt will do nothing. In the future I will disassemble the seat and try to remove the rotation limit.

This is a photo of the area in the seat high position, it shows why the seat-belt buckle can’t be rotated more backwards (would hit the plastic piece):
