Dropped the car off this morning to have the RV6 rear sway bar installed. I did not purchase the RV6 end links - was going to use the stock end links. Shop says the bar cannot be put to the stiffest setting with the stock end links - the stock end links are too short. Anyone else run into this issue? Don't believe the RV6 site says anything about needing their end links to get to the stiffest setting.

Some would tell you that the stiffest setting is borderline unsafe on the street so you may not want to do that. I'd recommend starting with the middle setting and seeing what you think before pressing further.

Have an autocross this weekend so wanted the stiffest setting. Either way it needs to be able to go to the stiffest setting with the stock end links, correct??

Worried they have it installed incorrectly. This is an experiences shop that works on a bunch of Porsches.

How are they installing it? Suspension loaded or unloaded? With and swaybar preload or no? Is it too short and making it hit the LCA, or too short and adding preload or why is it too short?

We havent done an RV6 sway but have done multiple eibachs and never had issue with stock rear endlinks.

They tried loaded and unloaded. The link binds up like it is too short or the spherical ends don’t have enough rang of movement.

They are correct; you cannot run the bar on the stiffest setting with stock endlinks.

Because I don’t know much about these things, what is unsafe about it?

It is "safer" for most normal street drivers to have a car that understeers more than oversteers, which is what a stiff RSB on these cars would do - induce more rear rotation. This is why pretty much all street cars from the factory have dialed in some of understeer at the limit than not, even muscle cars/big american V8s. However you can induce rear rotation on a RWD car with more throttle inputs but most people lift and use brakes when they start losing control, for the most part. But thats a whole different discussion on things like throttle steering and lift-off oversteer etc

you didn't buy the one with the included billet endlinks? It's probably designed to work with those.
