Valves are the weak point in raising the limiter on these cars.

Forgive my lack of mechanical knowledge but can valves be upgraded the same way rods/pistons can?

Like a “forged” alternative? My dream is an 8200rpm limit lol and I’m wondering if the K20C1 can be reliably built for that.

Again, apologies if this comes off as dumb. I work in IT lol not with cars

Yes the entire valve train can be upgraded with forged components from various reputable companies.

Upgrading the valve train isn’t really worth the effort unless you plan to do cams as well.

Most owners don’t get into valvetrain upgrades because a turbo upgrade generally yields a greater return on the investment. At the point where a valve train upgrade is absolutely necessary then you’re now getting to the point where other OEM components will need to upgraded as well like the transmission.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the response.

So there’s really no simple way to raise the limiter on an OEM+ car. I basically just want 350whp and an 8k limiter lol

350whp can be had with simple bolt-ons and a tune. The tune will raise rev limit but not to 8k rpm
