I believe it's equivalent to a vinyl wrap and isn't uncommon in hot weather

Just feels like super thin plastic to me. Doesn’t seem to be wrapped. I’ll see what the dealer says. Just wondering if they would have to replace the whole wheel or if that plastic trim piece is replaceable.

i wonder how involved the install is. looks like you just have to remove the airbag. and it's held on with two screws. not really sure how to remove the airbag though. thanks for that.

i found this video



looks pretty easy to remove the airbag to get room to replace the trim. I'll make the dealer do it though in case i fuck something up.

the process wasn’t bad, I did something similar a few days ago (swapped out DE5 piano black trim for FL5 matte trim), took me about 15-20 mins being careful.
