ECO still dumbs down the throttle unless you get into it heavily. You will notice a huge difference in drivability and lag especially if you alter the quick adjustments, as that gives you control over those aspects specifically. Most guys who do test back to back get better mileage with the tune, if they stay out of the gas of course.

You have full control to flash to stock any time or lower/raise boost levels as you see fit! The V2 will have the factory tune on it so you can flash factory any time.
Great! And setting the boost to come on quicker/less lag is all ok on 87 if I keep the boost 16 or lower?

The 5 inch head unit lets you switch tunes quickly but you need a laptop to make adjustments right?

I would just flash back to factory if I need to take the car in to the Honda for any reason like state inspection and emissions?

yeah you make changes with the computer, then upload up to 5 different maps (factory is always available as a 6th) to the V2 itself. then with the V2 you can flash any of the 6 to the car without the computer.

Thanks!

Can changes be made pretty quickly or does it take several minutes? Can you change on the fly or do you have to stop the engine?

Since the stock tune is available on the V2, could it be copied and then just change the setting for the quick adjustments to allow for faster spooling etc?

I have this in my cart on Amazon, trying to resist - LoL

when you open the program and begin creating a tune, "factory starting point" is available so you could choose that, touch nothing but the quick enables/disables/etc... then put it on the V2 and flash to the car. I have never timed it but I would guess the flash is around 3-5 minutes. you have to do it with the ignition on (not ACC.) and the engine off. In the software there are quite a few things to do quickly, and since you don't really want to "tune" the car, just change the driving behavior then everything you will do will be quick. But if you get into adjusting boost/ign tables and flex fuel tables and so on you can spend a little while in there.

If it can do that with no ill effects on 87 octane then I am sold and will likely order it tomorrow - was hoping to wait a year!

There is a factory starting point to choose! Factory was designed for 87, so no ill effects.
Thanks, and then I can set quick adjustments from there to have boost come on earlier plus others?

It will not be the same effect as running a lower stage and enacting the quick adjustments, as some factory limitations will still be there on the factory codebase.

Thanks.

Stage zero is CVT only right?

Stage 1 is CVT and 6 speed and 18lbs of boost right? I can’t make any adjustments to these right?

I remember you saying something about a 16.5 psi base map. I can use this and lower the boost to stock right and enable the quick adjustments? I just want to limit having to use premium. I use the car as a daily driver about 500 miles a week and like the economy of using 87 and getting 45-47 mpg!!

I am really only looking for stock boost but better more responsive drivability —- for now!

Ok - I ordered it! It seems it is flexible enough to be able to do what I want.

Should be here on Tuesday.

16.5 is safe on 87, for sure. We tested much higher on 87 successfully to make sure the ECU would compensate, just don't recommend that long term.
Great!

Can’t wait to start!!

Oh - good to hear you did extensive testing on 87, that makes me feel much better about using the 16.5 tune!
