Is tuning required for high-flow intake?

I just got my new CTR and I am thinking about installing the PRL intake as my first mod.
Do I need to tune the car after the installation and would my warranty be voided for the intake?

A tune will void your warranty, but will maximize gains of bolt-ons. Bolt-ons alone (without a tune) are VERY unlikely to affect warranty unless they are the obvious cause of any problems.

As a recently new owner of a CTR, I’m also interested in this topic. I’ve been considering the same intake as well as new exhaust and possibly the Acura Type-S Damper module. I live in a bumpy road area. I’m also in the UK so unsure how this affects both warranty and insurance? Hope I’m not hijacking….

You do not need the tune after you install the intake. I have thousands of miles running the intake on stock tune, no issues.. We have them in stock and on sale.

Have the opposite question, I have the base 91 Hondata tune on my stock car, but going to install the PRL HVI this weekend. Is there a different basemap I should be using after the install or will that 91 basemap still be fine? No current plans to install anything else after that at the moment.

Nope, you are good to go. The PRL HVI for the FL5 does not require any tuning changes.

Awesome thanks. Was able to get the intake and a few thing other things from your PRL sale, appreciate it!

Actually got one more question, are there dramatic gains for the turbo inlet vs stock?

No, not really. The inlet helps the most after you've upgraded the turbocharger. But beyond that it is mostly cosmetic.
