Just noticed a slice in the tire tread of my front passenger side tire. The tire is holding air just fine and there is no bulging. I'm thinking of just rotating it to the rear and filling it with some tire glue so the tread doesn't separate more. What are thoughts on that? The cut is pretty deep, looks like it stops just as it hits the belt. I have 8k miles on these and I'd hate to buy a bunch of new tires as these still have a lot of tread left on them. I have no idea how or when this happened.

No, not safe. That is a full replace. Esepcially if you say its deep basically to the belts.

Personally, coming from someone with a pretty high tolerance for "sending it" (I've tracked with tires that were plugged and patched) still say replace it

And as a shop owner to a customer - replace it.

Thanks @ctechauto. Here is a better photo. I assume the white I’m seeing is the belt?
