How often do you perform manual transmission service on your FL5?

45K mile on the clock.

On what schedule or how often do you change the transmission fluid on your CTR? I just did my second drain & fill of my manual transmission fluid at 45k miles with the first being done at 22,500 miles. That may seem early to some especially for car that is not tracked and just daily driven, but each time after the fluid change the shifts have been noticeably smoother.

Just did it for a customer today at 5k miles. He was experiencing some crunching/grinding 1-2 (albeit infrequent) and I found it was slightly underfilled from factory by about a quarter of a quart. Filled it with Motul Gear 300 75W90 and so far so good.

That being said, 20k is common for MT cars

And now I remember I gotta do this for our own FK8 too soon.

Just did mine at about 5400 miles. Did notice the shifts improve. My thought is, fluid is cheap and it makes a difference in feel so go for it!

Did mine at 10,000km with OEM fluid. The stuff that came out had changed colour from the normal amber to yellow, as if it was chemically changed.

I’ll change again when the car beeps at me or it gets more notchy.

Interesting comments..My 2024 F5just went in for the oil change, third one @ 15000 miles..I told the dealer I had concerns about the way the tranny felt..They tested it, said that the Rev match caused the trannt to " feel differently"..Now , I am anxious to change the tranny oil!! Thank for the comments.

Honda UK owners manual shows transmission oil change every 37.5K miles for severe driving or every 75K miles in normal driving.

Due to the Torsen style diff, good to change frequently if tracking. These diffs are hard on the oil.

I've done the 1st change earlier in other cars, but no problems thus far. It helps I'm in a warm climate and not tracking.

Honda MTL was pretty stiff in subzero (degF) conditions, requiring double-clutching for a couple miles to avoid crunching. Amsoil MTL and GM Syncromesh were better in extreme cold.
