I used to go out to the track all the time (almost all over Texas) but haven't been out there again in a long time. I get too competitive, although maybe I've changed after aging.
I used to be when I autox. The time is there every time you cross the line. But with HPDE I don’t have any timers. Unless it’s on a TT event. I just focus on having fun and hanging out with friends.

I've got a timer. That thing lives in my brain!

That would be bad for me. I run an old Garmin VIRB camera in my S2000. So I wouldn’t know the time until I watch the video after at home. It’s a good thing for me. Wonder how that will go when I use the logR in the FL5.

I haven't played with the log R at all. Just the Garmin Catalyst.

I've watched some Race Render videos and I swear the timer is wrong.

I would love to have a Garmin Catalyst but I just can’t justify the purchase for doing only 1-4 track days a season.

I completely understand that. I had 17 total track days this year, so I use it often.

I did a lot of HPDE in a S2000 and Integra. Then I raced a Miata for just shy of a decade. Put over 10,000 track miles on the car. Got to experience all of the highs and lows of racing. It got too time consuming and expensive. Thought I was done when I sold my car but recently bought into a buddies so I can race a couple of events each year. Not looking to do full seasons anymore though. Track days in the Civic hit the right balance of adrenaline rush and relaxation.

15 or so years ago 50+ track days mostly at Grattan, gingerman, or Waterford hills. Spent a lot of time in an NB Miata, 1st gen eclipse, EF Civic Si, Integras. All kinds of fun stuff. The FL5 has definitely reignited this hobby and hoping to get 4 to 6 HPDE next season.

Yea probably could have spent the time/money better but we had a blast doing it. YOLO haha!

For sure. Especially since the reason I bought into it is that I totaled it lap 1 turn 1 of the first race lol. He wanted me to get a good/recent result in it so he could sell it. Whoops! Now I get to spend the winter putting humpty dumpty back together again. Then we'll share it and hit some cool tracks next year. I've wanted to race Road Atlanta forever and this should give me the chance :headbang:.

Do you have a truck/suv that could tow? I’ve used the uhaul car trailer to tow the DE5 a couple times, works well and not too expensive (under $150)

Yep! I've got a 4 Runner V8.
