Unrelated KINDA. But we all have the Bose headunit which means different wiring harness because Honda suddenly doesn’t like DIY. So I had my Asian friend email Seicane and idoing in their native language so there was NO confusion. They even responded as such… they both said if anyone with the Bose 11th gen headunit emails them before ordering, that they have a harness that fits the Bose so it’s completely PnP. Even though they have full money back guaranteed. I’m waiting until I have EXTRA funds to be the Guinea pig I guess. Unless someone on here wants to be the first and post pictures and video of the install…. I haven’t seen a single picture or video of ANYONE with a Bose system installing one of those android plug n play headunits. It’s always base models or sports. But yea. Here are the links. I’ve had idoing in my 21 WRX. If had seicane in my 22 Camry and I also had Tey’es in my 2023 DD Altima. All great headunits. T’eyes have been the best though if I’m being honest.

I would love if someone could make alternate dashboard setups, like retro themed or fighter jet lol

Here are some screenshots and methods to access the two hidden screens I have found:

First Hidden Screen (Diagnosis Menu):
Similar to what was used on the 10th Gens: hold HOME + POWER + BACK:

That brings you to a screen that looks like this:
IMG_3659.webp

From this screen (or from the Detailed Information & Setting screen), Hold BACK + POWER + FORWARD for about 5 seconds for a new hidden menu:
IMG_3660.webp

The thing to note here, I think, is the USB mode. It allows you to turn on ADB Mode through the USB port:

It leads me to believe this may be the route that is needed to take in order to take admin-level control over the device.

Here is a video version of showing how to get into the menus as well:

We just need a working payload for android 8.1 and loaded through the web browser.

So this happened yesterday..
But still can't get the touch screen to work. I used the phone's screen mouse control to get around. If you're wondering, yes a physical keyboard/mouse works with this setup but it's not practical

The question is... How? Are you using a dock of some sort?

You will need the following first,
A samsung phone
USB A to USB A cable
USB A to Type C adapter.

First, make sure you have the developer mode enabled. Change the USB mode on the dash to adb mode on the USB.

Second, Go to developer mode and toggle usb debugger then change the USB to media mode, then connect your phone and it will ask you to open the Smart Switch app, open it and click ok on the radio, that will open the web app for you.

Note, download the Smart Switch app if you don't have it.
Also, enable wifi on the radio and connect to a Hotspot.

I can make a video if you want.

Interesting. I tried adb via PC but never received a pop-up allowing the connection on the Head unit. I wonder how the Samsung phone is working around this security measure.

Does it need to be a Samsung or will any android that can install Smart switch work? I am able to DL the smart switch app to my Pixel. I can give it a try after work.

I do see it available in the play store for my pixel. I guess we will need to test with the USBC to A adapter.
@isosa28 Is the USB A to A necessary ? If so links to compatible cables?
