Getting friend’s ktuner unlocked

I plan on buying my friend’s 1.2 ktuner. The problem is when after he installed an CAI in his car. He didn’t have his ktuner unit to reconfigure his maf to get rid of his engine light. He had it stored in a storage unit at the time. So he went to switch over to hondata/flash pro at tuner shop since his car wasn’t running right with the current ktuner tune and was impatient. Now the Is there a way to unlock the ktuner without plugging in the unit to his car again since it’s been overwritten with a different brand tune?

Pretty sure you could still unlock it without any trouble. I would definitely give it a shot.
