Getting ready to order the Accord homelink/auto dimming mirror. Install looks very simple, but I do have a question and hoping someone has determined this already. I have 2025 Sport Touring which already has the auto dimming function in the mirror. Is the harness still required? I was at the dealer and they said the newer higher trim level accords that had the auto dimming mirror didn’t need the harness as the harness for the auto dimming was already the right one. Does anyone know a definitive answer on this? Appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Mirror part number: 08V03-3A0-100
Attachment kit (required): 08V03-30A-100

The integra install video on YouTube shows him using the harness. I am pretty sure the integra has a dimming mirror so not sure. Anyone with auto dim mirror do this yet?

The harness would not be still required, but you'll have some work to do because the Accord and CIvic/Integra have different connectors for the mirror.

I did this on an Integra, not a Civic. But if your existing mirror already has auto-dimming, the best thing for you to do is disassemble both mirrors and reassemble using the following:
  • Wire harness from your Civic mirror (meaning the short harness that comes installed in the mirror and goes through the stem, this will get the plug correct where it plugs in near the windshield.)
  • Stem from your Civic mirror (this will get the angle correct, the Accord's windshield uses the same attachment method but has a different rake, so the stem is different.)
  • Clamshell and mirror from the Accord w/Homelink. The connector inside the mirror is the same for the mirror's little wire harness that goes through the stem.
I don't know if the Civic is the same as the Integra in this regard, but it was necessary to solder the red and yellow wires together on the Integra. This is because Homelink uses one of those wires for power and the autodimming feature uses the other wire for power, but in the Integra there was no power provided to the wire for Homelink from the car's harness. Soldering them together powers both with the ignition switched on.

This video explains this method somewhat:

Thanks for that info. If that’s the case probably makes sense to just get the accord harness. It’s an easy enough install and only $43.

I have a new Accord harness I would sell.

I put the Homelink mirror in my 2023 Accord Touring and bought two attachment kits (wiring harness). Put the new HL mirror and harness in the Accord, and was going to use the auto dimmer mirror from the Accord as a hand-me-down to the TypeR. So I bought the second harness. Well I have never installed the mirror to my typeR, and don’t think I will since in 11 months of ownership, I have never driven it at night. So why bother with the install?! If I did, I would just reach up and dim manually with the switch.

Anyhow, yes the Accord mirror fits in the civic and yes you need the new harness/kit from Honda.

Again - his car already has the plug by the TSR camera, so he does not necessarily need the harness. His install could be a lot simpler as it is with Integras.
