How is everyone going with their Acuity kit? How easy or hard is it to get into 5th gear? And what settings do you have it at?
I've had mine installed for a month or so. It is truly fantastic. I was hesitant to upgrade the factory shifter because it already feels great. The Acuity shifter only improved that feeling. I have tried a few different adjustments, incrementally decreasing the throws and gate spacing. Right now I have the gate spacing on the shortest setting and I actually think it’s perfect like this. The throw is set at about 3.5 and the height about 2.5.
The shifts feel smooth and direct, but overall effort has increased only a little, and that is mostly a result of decreasing the throw.

I know what you mean about 5th gear feeling a little awkward, I've noticed that on my last 2 Hondas as well. Surprisingly, I don't notice any difference in effort to select 5th with the Acuity vs stock.

In my experience with aftermarket parts, I think Acuity puts far more effort into their products. I just wish they had more offerings!

Acuity’s Short shifter / High preload centering spring and Shifter cable bushings is solid. Very notchy and satisfying mechanical feeling, definitely more than enough for daily driving/street or even Track use imo. Honestly no need for anything else unless you want something more aggressive like CAE. Plus, not really a fan of ridiculously tall shifters lol.

Car has 39k miles and no issues with 5th gear, easy to shift into. Currently using the shortest throw, slightly shorter than factory gate settings, and knob is set slightly higher than factory.

Thanks all. Just installed the shifter myself which is set to 3 for height. Gear throw at 3 and gate spacing at 3. Maybe I need to adjust again based on feedback here for that perfect find 5th feel.

As easy it is to remove the center console and readjust everything, I’ve been lazy and haven’t adjusted it ever since install.

I just got used to what I initially set it to haha ?

I'm not sure how many ppl are going to be willing to go to that extreme. Sounds/looks interesting though.

It's taller more precise mechanics and lighter than the current offerings. Sure you have to trim the shifter cables. It's not any more " extreme" then making 400+ on stock internals like plenty of people do lol

If 400hp was extreme so many people wouldn't be doing it.

We get it, you want this shifter. This thread is about the Acuity shifter, not a shifter that currently doesn't exist. You can spend the $1000 on it if or when it is available and create a thread to let us know how that extra long smooth shift knob feels. Hope that weight savings was worth it. You could probably just skip breakfast that day and save more weight. Not really sure how precise you need, but even stock is pretty precise.

Also, I found that the shifter gets a little less stiff with time as the bushings wear in.

All the offerings are cute. However the real one is almost ready for release for fl5 platform.
CAE | Short Shifter | Race Shifter | ALU Shifter | Honda CIVIC TYPE R https://share.google/WE13AlEUwD9s8ntrj
Coming from the Porsche world, CAE shifters are top notch. What's this look like on an FL5 and how much cutting off is there of the cable? Does cutting that part off means you can't return back to using original OEM shifter?

12mm on the FK8 model won't know till it gets released for fl5. Would need new shifter cables to use oem style shifter.
