So, since the stock turbos are capable of a maximum cfm rate of just of 400 (each model); then, this project would apply only to "Upgraded" turbos correct.
In addition, the stock turbo(s) are not at their best efficiency when flowing that cfm - so, it is only going to compliment upgraded turbos.
At .85VE on a 1.5L engine w/VTC, how much is the RPM extended to flow the projected CFM?
I can see your logic here, but I can also state that nearly any way to reduce pressure delta from air filter to compressor inlet will help the turbo despite the size.
Its hard to say how much the turbo inlet pipe will benefit the stock turbo, but if paired with a "race" MAF (which is just a MAF ID larger than stock) then we may start seeing gains. Peak power may not see the true gain on a stock turbo because the turbo itself is the bottle neck of the engine, but there could be solid gains with spool and mid-range.

Larger drop-in turbo's like the W1 will most certainly benefit from a turbo inlet pipe in spool, mid and top range of the engine RPM. Hard to say how much right now. Another consideration is audible performance..aka turbo whistle and BPV noises that we all love. Larger TIP and Race MAF should really increase the audible output.

@Barett@27WON
That was a superb response.
Agree that there isn’t much to do with the stock turbo.

^^^^THIS^^^^ Still waiting unpatiently. Losing sleep even. :rofl:

Just give me a prototype (make two of them). I'll $$ for it. I just want that 3" diameter (Or 4" if you go there to match the PRL race maf). :headbang:

You have a cvt/ worse turbo than Si lol. Pretty sure if your testing the tsp stage tune then this inlet upgrade won’t work properly

I know. I just like bad upgrades and stuff that makes my car slower or don't work. That's why I can't wait until this comes out. :thumbsup:

not yet, this is a very involved project.

You guys can always just shelve the project and sell me what you have. It's just a huge P.I.T.A. Then you can focus on more important items. :thumbsup::)

lol, we are very much hard at work on this one. Just nothing major to announce yet. This week we are launching the L15 FMIC so that has most of our attention atm.

Even though PRL has had a head start on the market, they seem over complicated with their build-a-bear CAI and turbo kit replacement while 27Won slaps down common sensical innovation and direct drop in parts...killin it. These guys impress the hell out of me. Customer communication is something I don't see often along with a desire to bring something worth while to the market while other companies feel like they have better things to do than help the Si guys out. Just my 2 cents
