Anyways I called about a Golf R and a GRC today. VW couldn’t give me much info on what they have coming down the pipes and Toyota told me to fuck off. I’m test driving a ‘22 Si tomorrow and am going to start keeping my eyes peeled for 987 Caymans again since the prices are starting to drop back to reality. All the negative talk on here has got my optimism for getting a Type R pretty low.

Ok, as of September 10th, we have an owner of an FL5 in Japan. Who really doesn’t think 1 Type R will have made it to the US by December 31st? I already have plans for that $50.

My brother in Christ what you do not understand is Honda does not plan to manually allocate North American dealers cars this month so it will probably be some time next month or even November and assuming they allocate most dealers one unit at the earliest next month, they will not show up as existing orders until November and won't have build dates until December and then they have to wait until a sufficient build amount can go as one unit on a boat which will take 30-45 days to get here

This isn't Amazon I'll see you in January

First off, I’m messing around, don’t know if you’re aware what sarcasm and joking are? But secondly, I’ve listen to others, and now you, make their comments similarly for quite a long time. We all know about supply chain issues, chip issues, COVID issues, and plant production issues… WE GET IT. The car won’t be here until next November 2023, if we’re lucky. ?
I was simply joking around, but I guarantee you, if anyone would have said someone, in Japan or not, would own an FL5 at the beginning of September, someone like you would have said that will never happen, yet here we are.
To that end, unless you have an inside source, better than the numerous people on here, who have pretty decent sources for information, that can prove your theory, with actual evidence, then it’s nothing more than your opinion…and as far as I can tell, no one knows what will happen.

I think a lot of people are just getting frustrated that we don't have more information about pricing or delivery dates. I know in my case I'd like to have an idea of when they will be showing up so I can prepare to offload my other vehicle.

Hopefully with this upcoming week being the North American International Auto Show we'll get pricing and a more firm timeline of when they will be arriving in the US and Canada. Honda could be concerned about committing to a firm date and then delaying that into Q1 due to supply issues so maybe they are making absolutely sure they can hit that target before giving more information.

Then Honda needs to stop giving those new Type Rs to customer in Japan! ?
