Oh man, glad to see im not the only one who has had this issue!
Recently installed a motor mount as pictured and i havnt ground 2nd gear since. Feels as if the motor is now attached to the car and not connected via a rubber band like it did with the OEM mount. Possibly the torque under load...
Probably due to the fact they are stationary and need to have the hood up for hot air escape, where as when you're driving the air naturally circulates through the engine bay as you move forward.
Id believe that. Ive seen the tiny PRL lower (2nd) intake and would hardly think that would make any beneficial difference to performance when moving and on the throttle.
Selling Genuine FL5 (with approx 8000km) turbo complete working unit with T51R mod done to the compressor housing.
Included everything pictured, electronic wastegate actuator etc (except my kids textas).
Bought as a spare so i could see what the mod sounded like and then get my own turbo done...
Thanks but I cant stress enough how bad the recording turned out compared to actually being in the car and hearing it yourself. Difference is night and day.
Oh and i should mention, since installing the T51R mod, i dont realy listen to the radio. Im still in the honeymoon phase of those sweet turbo sounds everytime i drive.
So I have been wanting to know what this would sound like on our Type-Rs. "But why on a stock turbo?" you ask.
Well i dont want to tune my car just yet and I dont see myself upgrading the turbo even when i do get to tune it, so why not have some sweet noise inbetween now and then.
I bought a...

Looked online for all the tutorials on how to remove the active/fake sound module and they all specify to remove the console trim etc.
So after I pulled out the glovebox I noticed a large diagonal slot on the side of trim panel that i could look through and spotted the module.
I was able to...

OEM airbox with PRL panel filter:
Ambient temp 17.5 deg Celcius
Intake temp before cooler: 39deg celcius

Thanks Acid for sharing your install/thoughts. It was because of you that i purchased the KN kit aswell. Can confirm it sounds amazing and the intake (without pinch strip) is super loud both on throttle and blowoff flutter.
