The OEM filter is really cheap on the inside (I cut mine apart looking for trouble). The Honda OEM filter has cardboard endcaps and a leaky relief valve (hard plastic on metal). I bought a 3 pack of them from a dealer. My next filter buy will be something besides the Honda OEM filter.
I had some left over ceramic snake oil (Cquartz UK 3.0), and used it on the wheels. I applied the coating to both my original wheels (summer tires) and OEM wheels I have for snow tires (Alpine 5's). The coating looks great, has held up well and tends to keep the wheels clean, even with brake dust.
My understanding of the oil temperature display value is that it's based on primarily coolant temperature, other measured parameters and a bit of software....it's not based on an oil temperature sensor (CTR's or ITS don't have an oil temperature sensor). The oil temperature display value is...
The 265/35/19 tire is "pretty close" on the speedometer, but at highway speeds (70mph) if you go 5 over the speed limit (speedo indicates 75 mph) you are actually going 8 over (78 mph) which eats into the goodwill from the guys checking your speed
I wanted a set of winter/snow tires and wheels that would be good in the snow (Central Illinois), not be awful on dry pavement, and wheels that would keep the tires tucked into the fenders to not sling winter crap on the side of the car. The only thing I could put together close to the factory...
There is always these..... The good and bad news is that you have to DIY...but you can make them however you want to suit you preference. The design I made has so far protected the sides of the car from debris trying to come through the cooling ducts. If you have access to a woodworking...
I got my 2024 from Gerald Honda in Matteson for MSRP, and no dealer installed options or services. No "closing fees" or other nonsense. Tom Hayden was the sales guy. The finance guy was high pressure on the extended warranty as usual, but I kept saying "no thanks" and wrote a $50,457 check.
Hi all,
I've finished ceramic coating a set of spare OEM wheels for snow tires. In the process of putting the valve stems back in the wheels, I can't find the torque specification for the valve stem fastener....I've looked in the service manual, online (Schrader-pacific appears to make the...
I had this problem pop up. I took the pics shown below, and the fault cleared itself on the way to the dealer...go figure. The dealer looked up the issue and found some TSB and did the fix. The repair took overnight, since the fix included a "hot" cam position sensor calibration, then a...
I refinished most of the lip on the wheel. I wound up needing a little bondo for some of the deeper scratches. The spokes and barrel are in great shape so I wanted to leave those alone, but it was certainly a pain to mask off each spoke and blend the new paint so it didn’t look bad…..these are...
I purchased a set of used Type R wheels to use with snow tires, and one of the wheels had some curb rash. I figured I would just get some factory paint, fill and sand the bad spots and call it a day. I couldn't find any honda factor paint for the wheels. The color looks like a flat-to-satin...
What do you have for 18" wheels? In particular, what offset are you using? I've started the hunt for snow tires and wheels and the lack of high offset 18" wheels is unfortunate since I'd rather keep the snow tires inside the fender than have them flush.

$50,457 Boost Blue, OTD. Gerald Honda, Matteson, IL. There was a "protection" package consisting of wheel locks, door edge film, and other stuff, they waived the $999 since the sales guy (Tom Hayden) said they just wanted to sell at MSRP and get it off the showroom floor. Jim
I got mine for MSRP. Gerald Honda (Tom Hayden sales guy) in Matteson, IL., total fees were $600ish and OTD price was $50k. I just asked the sales guy to call me when they’d sell it for MSRP and somehow it worked.
Nice, I like the cleaner look of PPF over mudflaps, but I have a short bit of gravel to cover to reach the pavement so I went with the flaps to eliminate any mud slinging.
I couldn't find quite what I wanted for splash guards, so I decided to make a set. The worst part was sorting out the fastener pattern, and coming up with a way to add one more fastener to to each piece to keep it from flopping around. I chose HDPE material from Menards which is the same stuff...
