This seems to track. My vin is 3519, R-14560. This means I have a late 2023, and that about 3,600 were sent to the US. With 3,345 of those 3,600 sold, there are a 200-400 units unsold. Most probably sitting in dealer showrooms with stupid ADM attached.
Still, these vehicles seem pretty common...
My goal is to get under 3100lbs without any drastic mods. Bumper supports, forged wheels, ti exhaust, ti inlet and downpipe should get me dangerously close. LiFE battery could make it over 100lbs off.
Yea, seems to be the case. What I've found:
USDM cars have a more robust crash bar behind the bumpers which is welded aluminum and rated for 5mph, and ROW cars have stamped steel members for 3mph bumper requirements. Common sense says steel is heavier, but I believe the USDM is simply aluminum...
Outstanding, can you do the rear also? I think there might be a good amount of weight savings available here. US bumper standards are a 5mph standard, vs Euro 3mph. Weight difference is 30lbs between EU and US spec, while EU has a few more standard features.
My neighbor drives a Macan with some burble, which is kind of loud, but ok, I guess it’s factory sport mode and actually sounds alright as it’s not over the top. However, I fortunately don’t live in or near low rent apartments, so I don’t have to hear pop tunes too often. I work near a...
I did the same thing. I had a fully optioned 23 core GRC. I ended up hating that car. It had tenacious grip and decent handling, but it also had some really bad handling quirks that I really didn't like. Overall, the experience was so plasticky, featureless, and didn't feel special at all. I...
Interesting... I haven't seen this reported elsewhere. I checked PRL inventory on the OEM spoiler, and it is on "BACKORDER". I just ordered from College Hills and they say they have about 200 in US inventory, but that it's also not listed as discontinued.
However, as is fairly normal with...
How much would you like if you’re looking to sell the OEM ITS RMm dogbone? I just did the Powerflex yellow insert and it’s worlds better than OEM, with absolutely minimal increase in NVH, but in my experience window weld is still better. As crazy as it may seem, 3M WW provides a completely solid...
Correct. I am not replacing the entire mount, rather using a poly insert that goes into the void of the OEM mounts. This way, the RMM is actually a hybrid solution. OEM structure and fit, rubber OEM bushing, but removes the area of free play with a semi-compliant PU bushings. It is a much more...
Agreed, I would like to lose 5-10 pounds and gain a bit of sound and performance. I'd really like to see a titanium/stainless hybrid options as well. Ti mid pipe to stainless canister and rear section. Could cut some weight while keeping cost reasonable. Either way, not finding much USDM spec...
FWIW, I have the Mugen mirrors sitting waiting for install. They have built in LED and are full replacement mirrors with BSM, Defrost, and built in signals like old cadillacs.
I am waiting for the IC to be available before I place the order. I have a small stack of parts to get on already. The car doesn’t drive when it’s raining or cold, and it’s been a lot of both lately. I will update when I eventually get around to it. Quoted timeframe of IC was late Dec or early...
Their US office is one guy, Fred. He says that they've got a thriving industry in Japan, but limited penetration outside of the country. Parent company Daiwa also manufactures larger items for industrial heat exchange, and I believe that is more of their economic concern.
Interestingly, they...
A radiator I will be buying soon is the DRL "Daiwa Racing Labo" FL5 radiator. It is wholly manufactured in Japan and uses some unique design considerations to maximize airflow over core density. The thicker a core is, the longer the air heats and slows down as it moves through the radiator. DRL...
