APR Diffuser installed! Definitely one of the most expensive of all the diffuser options, but it builds on the OE's design versus being a full departure, which is what I wanted. Full Dry Carbon also adds cost, but the benefit is that it only weighs 2.9lbs :)
I did lose access to the rear toe...
Pulled pins for camber, but it wasn't necessary for clearance. Factory ball-joints.
It's a rounded shoulder UHP All-Season tire so there is more room than the squared shoulder 200TW offerings. We've sold over a dozen sets in this spec - I haven't collected data from customers that details what...
Superspeed 76RR
18x10.5 +47
285/35R18 Continental DWS06+
No rubbing with H&R Springs, and briefly this set was installed on our second tester FL5 with Swift Springs. Also no rub - thoroughly tested with passengers, bumps, full-lock turns etc.
I generally say 4-500. On my FK8 I had Spoon Rigid Collars, and noticed the NVH even less so.
Sometime over the winter we'll install the PRL SRS Collar Kit, and I'm really inclined to give the chassis mounted performance dampers a go as well.
I do think that PRL could revisit their RMM. It started off great, but I also felt that after 6 months of use the bushings got soft on the FK8.
Not sure if it's a chassis thing, because we still have a PRL RMM installed on our FL1 and that's performing alright.
Rear Motor Mount
Towards the tail-end of FK8 ownership, I found the perfect RMM for me - Wunderladen with the Street Bushings. It offered what I had been seeking for a long time, which was performance of the 27WON Street RMM, with the low NVH matching the PRL RMM. I had both those mounts...
A more expensive but worthwhile mod so far to me has been the SDI e-CLIK suspension controller, which allows me to take over control of the dampers and I can confirm it's pretty much eliminated body roll. I also have H&R Springs and a 22mm Progress Rear Sway Bar, which helps but nowhere as...
Thick Rear Sway Bar, and if you're up for quite some labor then a Front Sway Bar as well. We just supplied a setup for a DE5, the customer's super happy with the setup!
Funny how this update makes it to the build thread last, but it's made the rounds on Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit already!
CW was never going to fly with me, so I was planning this wrap even before the car's delivery. KPMF Blue Black Iridescent went on, and it's come out even better than...
UNITY PERFORMANCE
Dedicated section for 20+ brands, and 400+ products currently on sale. About half of them already display BFCM pricing, the other half will display the sale pricing in the Cart.
Feel free to PM here with any questions. Thanks guys!
It's no longer CW for the next few years! Got it wrapped with KPMF Blue Black Iridescent, and the final outcome is even better than I imagined!
Love the shift from a very vibrant blue, to purple, then navy blue, and even black, depending on the lighting at the time. When the car was revealed to...
Hi-Power I's definitely on the louder side, but not overbearing either with a stock DP. With an aftermarket DP you can expect some level of drone with the Hi-Power
This is the big one - SDI E-CLIK Active Pro! I've had all the suspension upgrades you can think of since 2018, this is genuinely the one that's excited me the most. TLDR: Humza geeks out over an active suspension management system.
Having lived with this for over a month, I can't go back to...
Jason’s brought some great offerings to the market, and he backs it up with his track testing! Have to check our stock levels, I believe we have some oil coolers and radiators left from our last order with him.
I have to speak with him about the micro-tube intercoolers he shared this week...
I feel like we did a pretty decent job at showcasing the HKS Hi-Power on our tester Red FL5 :)
We also have 2x in stock right now if anyone wants to skip the wait line! LINK
Top tier racing upgrades on the M3 already :)
And you’re right about the list of mods needed to push the FL5 on track. As this thread goes on I'll see what I can pick and choose to improve cooling on my car. I have all the access to cooling parts but whether it’s NEEDED for my intended use is...
Conveniently both SDI and DSC were at SEMA, which gave me the opportunity to provide SDI with feedback, and to meet with DSC and introduce myself/Unity.
SDI confirmed that I can unplug the harness to their module and plug in the factory ADS in any time, which also means I can just switch back...
Give them a go next if you’d like :)
They’re quite popular now with Type R and S owners. Lots of big power builds in Florida and Texas could be running them as well. I’ve also had them out at Tail of the Dragon, and encountered brake fade with Motul RBF600 and Paragon R5 before the tires got greasy
