Here’s pictures of the rest of the removal. All the bolts clips etc. Both rear back seats have a total of 8 bolts holding it in place. One that is removed you have two other bolts holding the bench seat in place. The rear cargo tray has two star shaped screws holding it in place.
Just got back from driving it. Car definitely has a little more zip. I can't tell to much of a difference on the handling and turn in. I will probably say though adding a rear upper strut bar and a rear sway bar should counter any potential negative affects this weight savings may add. I did...
Ok guys hopefully this helps out the community. I removed the rear bench seat (11.2lbs), D/s rear back seat (21.8 lbs), P/s rear back seat (11.2lbs), rear tool tray and carpet cover (12.8 lbs), rear floor carpets and all the bolts for seats (1.6 lbs) and last but not least the rear shade cover...
I’ve owned over 40 cars. Can’t remember most of them. lol But my favorites have mostly been Honda’s. 2008 civic si. 2006 RSX type s. 2020 Audi Rs3 and my current 23 Type r.
I didn’t soak mine for that long. Maybe 4 hrs max. The two that broke off were sticking out. I used an extractor socket on both and heated up the broken studs with a torch. No good. Now they are broken flush on the turbo manifold. So I have to drill it out. I’ll wait for now. Seems like a pain...
Yeah mine had about 400 miles on it. I honestly didn’t know that these are that prone to breaking. Pretty crappy if you ask me for such a new car. I understand some thing old and rusted but this is new. So right now I’m just rocking the down pipe with only two bolts, the top left and bottom...
Well got it installed. How ever. Two effing bolts broke on the turbo exhaust side. Top right and bottom left. Sucks big time. I reinstalled the down pipe because it was my only way home. Car drives fine, no cel in at this time. Don’t hear any exhaust leaks or smell excessive fumes. Hopefully it...
Man I can’t wait to install it. Question, did you remove the turbo inlet pipe? I was looking at all the space this fl5 has compared to the fk8 and it looks like it can be done ✅ without removing the turbo inlet pipe. Any chance you can do a video of the sound? I’m curious ?
I’m on vacation, my downpipe came in late. I’m getting it installed this coming Friday. And currently no one makes a tune for the new civic type r. At least none that I’m aware of.
When I purchased this car the last thing on my mind is drag racing! lol I'll leave that to the Rs3(I had). Never lost a race in that Rs3. It was just stupid fast of the line. This Type r though feels like a tool around corners though. Also the shifter is a thing of beauty. When I bought this car...
Thank you for the update. Yes I agree in the noise volume the k and n filter provides. I'm sure performance figures are negligible across the board for a drop in filter. How ever I am curious to see how the spoon sounds and preforms.
