I always said that I'll never be caught in an automatic unless it is my hearse...
Manual is a must. which is why I am looking to get a new car now, before manual transmissions become extinct.
Thanks,
I did not look at the weight for the CT4-V Blackwing... it is indeed nearly 700lb more than the CTR...
The 4BW is 8" longer than the CTR, yet rear leg room is 4" less, and trunk volume is less than half
so from practical standpoint, the CTR will be a much more practical car (and...
I've considered this, but thought that I should wait till spring time for better weather driving cross country back to California, and maybe by that time local dealership might go down to MSRP?
my entire life, other than the car I took from my parents (76 Buick Century), I bought only two cars, both new, and both times kept the car for about 20 years.
my first was a 1989 Mercury Cougar XR7 (same as the Thunderbird SC), supercharged 3.8L V6.
the second was the 2007 FA5
I am 60 years...
thanks,
I do not care as much for raw speed (0-60 or 1/4 mile, or even top speed) as much as I care about handling, fun to drive, etc.
I rather purchase new, and never cared much for BMW, so again, CT4-V Blackwing, as mentioned above might be it.
Thanks,
After I posted this (should have done it before...), I did a quick search, and indeed the CT4-V Blackwing caught my eye. pretty much everything I want (possibly minus reliability and space, as it seems smaller than the CTR), bit over my budget.
but, none seem available in inventory, I...
I currently drive a 2007 FA5 which I still love very much, and I cannot imagine shifting at less than 8k RPM, but still, I would like to get new car
I've been looking to purchase the FL5 as an obvious choice, yet, even though I can afford it, I find it difficult to pay over MSRP...
So I...
well, my daughter decided not to purchase a new car right now, apparently finishing up her PhD is more important than getting a new car, go figure.
so there will be no twofer discount price, i.e. $10K over if I buy just the CTR
I'll wait till prices drop, or she decides to replace her car...
I never really considered it...
I guess that I assumed that I have to be at the dealership to sign papers?
I do not buy cars very often, about every 17-20 years
the CTR would be my third new car and probably the last, as I am 60 years old...
I'll research.
thanks!
the reason for "only" $5K is because my daughter is buying a Civic Hybrid Hatch from the same dealer this weekend.
decision is then more difficult, get a new set of tires and wait about a year for prices to drop below 5K over, which it might not, or pull the trigger now.
patience is a virtue...
So Cal $5,000 over for a 2025 CTR which was manufactured after August 2024 (was not subject to the recall)
I still love love my 07 FA5 but it has nearly 200K miles and it needs new tires, for whatever reason my tires never seem to last more than 15K miles :-)
so I have a choice to make: either...
confused... is it Cronus Leader or Green Cove? though doesn't really matter other than the VIN range
if I am reading the myshiptracking site correctly, Cronus left Hueneme and is heading to Japan, and Green Cove is moored in San Fransisco (Richmond aka Chevron).
I am trying to find a CTR that...
From what I now understand, if a dealership fixes the car before they sell it, then there are
0 Unrepaired Recalls associated with this VIN
which makes it all the more difficult to find out if an unsold car was subjected to the recall using the VIN
is there anyway to find out when a...
the recall notice says 2025 are included.
per NHTSA recall report
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCLRPT-24V744-4093.PDF
I know that cars manufactured after September 2024 are not affected, yet there are no VIN numbers in the report.
another thread here has the first few 2025 VIN...
