Swapped over from the factory 20mm Rear Sway Bar to the Progress 22mm one. This one’s the adjustable one that comes packaged with spherical end links, but I’m close to certain they would cause some NVH from having spherical suspension parts in past, so we went with our tried and true beefier...
Good to know that a module can modernize the headunit! That’s a great two car solution :)
If I were in your shoes I’d make the car that’s got cheaper consumables the primary track car.
I ran 265 wide Conti ECS02 summers with 470whp, they were able to grip well at all times. I’m currently running 285 wide Conti DWS06+ uhp all seasons, and not struggling with traction.
Unless you’re running a 200TW that activates when cold/colder, I’m certain they’ll struggle to keep up with...
Haven’t tried the Spoon mount kit myself, but I switched over from PRL to Wunderladen Street, and I find it to be smoother. 75a rating initially made me weary but it’s delivered the performance without increased NVH.
Have to try out COBB’s new RMM as well to see how it compares.
Greddy previewed this at SEMA…no valve but double resonated mid-pipe with two rear mufflers and Helmholtz branch resonators.
Looks pretty well equipped to handle drone, time will tell. ETA is Q1 2026
Currently running Hybrid with stock DP and FP in my FL5. When I had my FK8 my last setup was Hybrid with 27WON DP and RV6 FP. No complaints.
Both setups have felt very useable to me for daily driving.
I think I need to go for this as well. Not liking the factory clutch feel at all in my 25 FL5 right now. Been some time since we owned our 23, can’t remember if that car also felt the same.
H&R Sport Springs. 0.8” drop all around, not much stiffer than stock for an OE+ look and feel.
Again, thanks to @Thusee for the install! Initial install picture from early September, then some shots I took recently.
No rub at all in any conditions. I don’t intend on switching these out for a...
@Thusee adopted the car in early September as I went offline for a bit to welcome my daughter into the world :)
Here’s a number of installs he performed at Honda - he’s a certified tech if anyone needs work done on their cars.
Steering Wheel swap. Our Flat-Bottom wheels are pretty well known...
We’ve got a markdown on our Steering Wheels this month :)
I’m currently running the Carbon version without a Center Ring, and Grey Stitch on my FL5. It’s one of the four available variants. More pictures and details below...
The Acuity and Hybrid Shifters have spoiled me over the years, so I had to skip past the upgrades to the stock shifter, and go right to Acuity. One our last FL5 we had Hybrid, so I'm mixing it up on this one with Acuity's. Not having to remove the entire console makes the overall install easier...
The fit will always be a little loose, that's intentional for the ease of install and removal. As for the material I would say that it's just closely knit enough where it stops spills from going through and getting soaked into the seat. I ran these on my FK8 for 3+ years, including two 1K-mile...
Stock suspension at the time of pictures, drove it like that the first 100 or so miles. Follow up post will show ride height with H&R's - no rub as well.
Thanks! My first drive out on the backroads reminded me how good of a package Honda has put together since it had been a while that I'd...
Couple more updates before we took it out for its first drive :)
1) OLM Honda Access Style Wing - originally we were going to retrofit this on our FL1, but that received the standard FL5 wing in Carbon from OLM along with OE risers, so this was sitting collecting dust. Glad we sat on it because...
With less than 10 miles on the clock, most of which were likely in Japan, we kicked off with the first mods :)
Superspeed 76RR in Matte Black - 18X10.5 +47 with 285/35R18 Continental DWS06+. The 9.5" setups are proven but wanted to showcase that 10.5" can be easily accomplished as well. I...
Not our first FL5 shop car but finally my own FL5! Important distinction is that the first CW (wrapped purple) was a friend's car given to us for early product testing, and that was sold off in early 2024 for a BMW M5. Then we've had the RR FL5 build ongoing which most of you have seen on our...
There's speculation whether our factory ADS is active, and I don't think it is. With either the SDI or DSC you feel in real-time how the car tenses or softens up, especially when you have the reactivity set higher in any of the modes.
