26 type R has been in NHTSA database since April. It was registered the same time as all civic trim levels. For clarity- same thing happened last year for the 25 FL5- registered the same time as the 25 civic.
Keep in mind NHTSA registration means effectively nothing. There is a single...
There could be tons of reasons, but technically speaking there is nothing stopping Honda from doing a pricing update mid year anyway. They bumped destination charges in January of 2025 unannounced.
Honestly I think they are going to keep pumping out 2025s, and they will either announce an end...
Honda releases an official announcement of new model year introductions even when it is a carryover. They had an official announcement for both MY 24 and 25 including pricing and EPA ratings with the sales brochure.
It's important to note that not a single other person at a dealership or otherwise has corroborated this- in fact some dealership personnel have specifically stated they don't see this in their inventory system. Not saying it is faked, but it could be error just as much as it could be true. 2026...
26 accord was released in China months ago with a really nice front facelift and plug-in hybrid.
The Accord I think Honda is struggling a little what to do with. It's only like 3 inches larger than the Civic now, and in the recent years- the Civic has been outselling the Accord by a large...
Not that I think it's likely there will be a 26, different trims (especially the type R) are released at different times.
Last year DELIVERIES were happening in late August, my guy.
Nothing on sale, no announcements, no allocations. While lotta nothing so far.
Also important to note there's still no confirmation on 2026 CTR. The inventory screenshot shown previously doesn't really mean much, and I haven't heard of any other dealerships confirming they saw a listing. Not...
I find any leaks to be EXTREMELY unlikely. Honda is famously good at keeping secrets. The only hints they ever drop are hints that are very specifically- strategically planned and are released with a lot of fanfare.
Anyone claiming to be in Honda marketing saying "something is coming" on a...
Not to ment
Not to mention the CTR spec 2.0 engine is only made in the US. Logistics don't make sense to ship them over to Japan for extremely low production numbers.
Honda wouldn't dare make a Prelude Type R while axing other market CTRs. The Prelude has always been a 2 door sport tourer, they did have a Japan only Type-S spec, but Type-S is not and never was meant to be a "Type-R" equivalent. Honda cares too much about the Type-R badge to do that.
What I...
I wouldn't say that, honestly. The FL5 is way more car than pretty much any hot hatch ever before. Is it a little pricey... Sure. But you buy any civic before the FK8, you're putting $30-40k worth of parts alone into it to get the same capabilities depending on the base, and you're sacrificing a...
Their site states:
"This coupler is only compatible with the PRL High Volume Intake paired with any PRL inlet pipe upgrade (carbon fiber or titanium). Additional fitments are under development for other applications but not not available at this time."
Either way, you'd be unlikely to see any...
If you are in the US- you made the right choice to buy now- new US Tariffs on Japanese automobiles (24%) that were put on hold go into effect July 9th, so unless we waffle on that (which is possible), you're going to see a ~$11,000 MSRP increase on the FL5 next month.
June 1 2026 is absolute...
"Type S" isn't "watered down", I don't think the "Type S" trim levels were ever supposed to have the same levity as Type R was with performance. Historically both Type R and Type S have been offered as different trim levels of the Integra at the same time, for example.
Type S is more akin to...
Half those statements contradict each other, heh. Proof that really nobody knows.
"the Civic Type R in its current form should remain on sale here at least through the 2027 model year" is quite the bold one- when almost everybody is certain the FL5 wont even make it all the way through 2026-...
Like the FL5 they wont meet Japanese regulations either come 2026, importing into Japan would likely become an extreme burden.
Its unfortunate because the Integra badge has some serious significance in the JDM world, more than the Civic badge especially so with the Integra Type R. I suspect...
