Not too bad in terms of installation, just be careful with the reverse gear stack as I had accidentally flipped the reverse gear select sleeve over which stopped the gear housing from meeting the clutch housing properly. Took a while to figure out that this was the cause.

Sorry, somehow missed this comment! I am yet to test it on track, just been so busy... But I did do some logs and found the fuel trims and AFR's were drifting quite a lot, especially when cruising. I thought it was due to the RAMAIR MAF housing being a slightly different diameter to OE, but I...

  7. Rear axle bump steer: how there is probably minimal amounts despite very unequal length lateral links

The difference in length of the forward most arm vs the main lower arm is engineered bump steer, to increase rear end stability. The shorter forward arm travels a tighter arc, which induces toe in on both bump and droop. The geo is obviously affected once the car is lowered, which then causes...
  8. Racing the FL5 Type R with all OEM spec parts on Laguna Seca

I don't know if I've ever recommended -1.8° or any amount of toe out on the car, not sure why you ended up running this set up. The separation of rubber on the outside shoulders is a clear indication of excessive load and heat, so you need to run more negative camber. Read my build thread if you...
  9. Racing the FL5 Type R with all OEM spec parts on Laguna Seca

Holy shit I don't have time to read all that but I can see you talking about toe an awful lot. Whats your camber?

Splitter project slowly coming along. The OEM brake ducts have been deleted to accommodate the aero tunnels directing air behind the wheels in the wheel well.

The PWR IC is actually a bar and plate, and like @Tougefl5 mentioned they don't have a charge pipe option which made the HKS a better value proposition for me. According to the temps recorded on Hondata, the HKS is working well.

Spoon Kevlar seat in, saved 7kg over the stock seat. Bride Type FO rails are quite heavy so I might pull them back out and mill out some unnecessary material. If you're taller than 5'7" I recommend the super low version of the Type FO. 6 point harness system to come ?
  15. Question about lowering springs with stock dampers

Hi! That's correct, when you lower the car, natural camber is induced into the rear axle due to the camber curve of the multi link design, whereas the camber curve is very gentle on the front, so much so that between stock height and -20mm it remains the same. Might be worth noting this is not...
  16. Question about lowering springs with stock dampers

I have tested Spoon springs on my own car and installed it on countless other FL5's and can confirm they are currently the best lowering solutions on this platform without going the full coilover route. They match the OEM dampers well, and maintain the factory handling balance, which is...

They did. The updated ones have thicker insulators, which are a matte black like you mentioned
