Correct. The engine is fine. What I did, and something I would recommend to other FL5 owners, is to disable the ASC module to get rid of any fake engine noise that's pumped in, and then get a non-valved aftermarket exhaust, like the AWE Touring. This will leave you with a pure and IMO a very...
I've posted about this before. I'm running 265/35R19 tires on the OEM 19" wheels. Same additional sidewall as folks running 265/35R18 tires on aftermarket 18" wheels. I got them not for the marginal increase in comfort (there's barely any), but because I need more sidewall to protect my rims...
This is true, but there are large costs and risks associated with HPDE events, especially with large groups of varying competence. Insurance is an issue, and I've seen my share of newly wrecked cars over the years. Too many incompetent or over-confident drivers out there that you can't trust. I...
Did this mod today - pretty easy and straightforward. I just wanted to be 100% sure that even in COMFORT there was ZERO fake noise pumped in. So I disconnected the cable and zip tied it to the box so it won't rattle. Tested the car afterwards with ENGINE SOUND set to COMFORT, SPORT, and +R, and...
The "pedal dance" also disables Agile Handling Assist which will use front/rear brakes to help the car rotate and such. +R mode with VSA OFF doesn't disable that. On track, "pedal dance" is the way to go.
Definitely try it @Icehawk.
Regarding the whole "turn in" thing, I think it's something that's not really noticeable driving on the street IMHO. It could be a placebo, as you'd really have to push your car hard to really notice this tiny difference.
Another important thing to keep in mind is...
I highlighted some of the items I wanted to ask/comment on.
What offset are your 18s"? I ask because most are ET45, and OEM is ET60. That 15mm more of sticking out will affect your steering a lot more than 35 profile vs 30.
Try the +R with the ITS module. I doubt you'll miss the CTR +R. I...
Yeah, that's the most plausible theory - it was very much a passion project bordering the fanatic. I still wonder how they got that Nurburgring lap time using a stock suspension in +R that skips like mad and is not something one would use on a track like that. At Suzuka it's fine, but not at the...
Drove it some more, highway, higher speeds, faster corners, etc. Two things stood out:
1. COMFORT - As I was saying in my prior post, it really is just better - smoother, soaks up the bumps better, and not "too soft" at all. This is how I would expect a comfort mode to behave like. Less...
I got 265/35R19 tires not really for the minimal comfort over the 265/30R19s, but because they protect the 19" rims from getting bent/damaged. An added benefit is that they fill the wheel wells 12.5mm" all around, and the car looks like it was lowered 12.5mm. As far as the turn in, it's a small...
OK, installed it and drove on some crappy backroads full of bumps, potholes, etc. Initial impressions from a 30min drive is that it's a better ADS module than the OEM CTR in all modes.
First of all +R is usable, even on the crappy roads I drove on. The CTR ADS module makes +R dampening awful...
