  1. Back in a Type R!

A lot of G80s are coming off lease, so the market will be flooded! If I had to do it over again, id get the buckets. I didn't on mine, and the stock seats are not that great when driving aggressively in corners. Definitely a love it or hate it car in the looks dept. I actually love the way it...
  2. Back in a Type R!

I'd like to first say that I am a fan of both cars. I am a car enthusiast that is impartial to any brand/model. That said, i've been been a fan of M3s for sometime and had previously owned an E46 and F80. I won't focus on the creature comforts or interior of both cars, as the BMW will blow away...
  3. How Does Driving Experience Compare?

Regarding RWD vs FWD, I also have a G80 M3 6MT which is RWD only. I find myself quicker in the backroads and twisties in the FL5, because I can use all the power and like the slightly bigger safety net of FWD. But yes... when torque steer shows itself (and it will at times) it's not the most...
  4. How Does Driving Experience Compare?

I really enjoy the FL5 driving experience. It has really good steering feel, great gearbox, and if you don't mind FWD, the chassis is incredible. The feedback and overall grip is amazing. Add a hatch/usable rear seats, and it becomes a great all-arounder. My only gripes is the car is physically...
  5. I got the FL5 a little friend!

I'd like to think of myself as a regular car enthusiast, and Honda happens to be one of my favs!
  6. I got the FL5 a little friend!

I got my FL5 a BIG friend last night... Been wanting another 3rd row SUV and we had a 2015 Pilot back in the day that we loved. So we got a 2025 Trailsport!
  7. I got the FL5 a little friend!

Trans top was never a thing in the US. Also Jalopnik failed to mention the Del Sol with DOHC VTEC model that was available in the US. That was such a cool car.
  8. I got the FL5 a little friend!

I watched it and agreed with his ending statement, putting around town is not where the car shines. Its when you take it to the canyons and really drive it, is where it comes alive!
  9. I got the FL5 a little friend!

Thanks for the link! I remember religiously watching Tiff Needell's review of the e46 m3 when I was waiting for mine back in 2001! His thoughts on cars really align with what I like.
  10. I got the FL5 a little friend!

That is pretty much the most accurate way to describe the shifter! It's so satisfying to use!
  11. I got the FL5 a little friend!

I think I put 800 miles on the S2000 now in the last 2.5 weeks. It helps that the weather has been good here for top down driving. I'm still getting to know the nuances of how it handles, so taking it careful in the twisties right now. The car responds quite a bit to mid corner throttle inputs...
  12. Intermittent clicking/ticking sound from the the are of driver side window (top left corner) or the panels next to it

It's the exterior glossy trim. Replace that, and your issue will pretty much go away.
  13. Back in a Type R!

I had a G80 xdrive on order until I test drove one. It didn't do it for me, but I drove the 6MT version and loved it and ended up getting one. I still have my G80 6MT and it pairs well with my FL5! I am now looking for a base 992. The best shifter I ever felt was the one on my s2000. It's sublime!
  14. What did you do to your FL5 today?

I've been cleaning up the s2000 the last 2 weeks, and haven't paid much attention or even driven the FL5. Today, I gave it a mini detail and wiped down the motor. Both Hondas are nice and clean now!
  15. Intermittent clicking/ticking sound from the the are of driver side window (top left corner) or the panels next to it

Yes, strange that the passenger side never did it as well. I will say replacing the trim solved my issue 98%
  16. Intermittent clicking/ticking sound from the the are of driver side window (top left corner) or the panels next to it

I wanted to add that it has been unusually hot the last 2 days and I heard the random tick here and there from the trim when driving with windows up and no radio. It's certainly way better than before where it would be a pretty consistent ticking noise during driving and even after parking the...
  17. PointByPatrol #21985 Build Journal! RIP #9243

I think car track days are pretty safe (as long as you contain the red mist lol) when I did club motorcycle road racing, I've seen so many helicopter rides, debilitating crashes, and even deaths.. ive lost way too many friends to motorcycling. it really puts a reality check in life and the...
  18. FX3D rock guards

You don't need to remove the wheels for the rear. I just jacked up one side and used a stubby finger grip screwdriver.

Serious talk, glad you got another car and getting right back out there. I was a track addict for a long time (with motorcycles) and the mental block after a crash is hard to explain, but very satisfying to overcome. Wishing you the best track seasons yet!
