Sadly dealer can do anything they want, they don't have to honour that as it was really just a gesture. If they are getting an allocation and are straight up they could honour it or magically bump you and sell the car to a friend or family member of the dealer management. Sadly that is happening...
Yo if someone who has already secured one has a connect, I will gladly pay a finders fee if you help me secure one, no joke. Can't stand the not knowing....
I have talked to a few buyers who were confirmed to get one in the next 1 - 2 weeks.
2 in Quebec, 1 in Manitoba, 1 in Ontario, 2 in Alberta.
That's all from them posting either here or on facebook.
There are likely more but they haven't shared.
Geez I wish up here in Canada we even got enough cars that we could be picky...if I could get an allocation (which now sounds like I won't even though I have had a deposit since Q1) I would take anything I could get. F#@king depressing...
The guy who got it and posted on FB used to be a Finance Manager or GM for that Honda dealer up until earlier this year. So regardless of who was in that list he was going to get it first. He also owns an FK8 and an LE.
I thought about it, if it was $1000 I wouldn't care but it's $5000 and I don't really want the dealer to do hold that for 3 years earning me nothing. Plus I pressed harder and he told me 4 over 3 years, originally they told me 8, I am 9th in line so I figured only 1 person has to drop out and I...
So I got an email from my dealer...
First the positive:
- Dealer said they will not sell above MSRP or force any extras as a requirement of sale. Yay!
Negative:
- Will not tell me how many are allocated just "very limited amount over next few years"
- No mention at all about timing, order...
