Hey there, thanks for stopping by! đź‘‹

I'm glad to be a part of the FL5 community for such an amazing car 🙏 Just thought I'd share my build so far for inspo and to show my appreciation for it.

A little bit about me. I don't come from a long line of having owned many cars tbh. My first ever car was a cute lil manual Honda Jazz. When I bought it brand new at the showroom, I remember walking past a CW FK8 and was amazed at how aggressive it looked, but I couldn't drive it at the time as a learner. Fast forward a few years later, I wanted an upgrade and inspected a few second hand FK8's until finally viewing the FL5 in person. It was love at first sight - put a deposit that very day!

This is my 2nd time owning the car. I bought the 23 model but ended up in an accident in 24. Cue long wait times in Australia. Stockpiled mods in the meantime of waiting to buy the FL5 again late 25. Now, here we are 👌

Interior
- Karo Sisal Floor and Luggage Mats (green/black)
- Dream Performance Dash Mat
- Dream Performance Floor Mat Driver's Side Protectors
- OEM Type R Illuminated Door Side Step Garnish
- OEM Trunk Loading Mat
- JDM NOS Headrest Cushions
- Hold My Phone Device Mount

Exterior
- Full PPF + Ceramic Coating
- Window Tint
- Varis Arising 1 EVO Aero Body Kit
> Front Lip Spoiler
> Extension Lip (in storage, not installed)
> Double Canards
> Rear Under Splitter
> Cooling Bonnet (paint matched)
- Result Japan GT Wing (paint matched)

Wheels & Brakes
- Rays TE37 Ultra M-spec 19x9.5 +36 5/120, Dash White
- Rays Caps, Steel Nuts, Hubrings
- Project Mu FS6 Front Caliper Kit

Engine Bay
- GruppeM Intake (ordered)
- Okuyama Carbing Aluminum Radiator Reservoir Tank (ordered)

Miscellaneous
- IPF Reverse Lights
- Flow Brackets OEM Plinth Delete Kit
- Flow Brackets JDM Plate Bracket Front + Rear
- ALPLUS Aluminium Aero Guards
- Thinkware U3000 Front + Rear Dashcam
- SLIPLO Universal Bumper Scrape Guard

The 2nd time around of owning the car, I threw all the mods I had stockpiled on it, because, why not? Encountered some bumps along the way. The Project Mu BBK had missing hardware which I should have checked for upon delivery, but alas neglected to, i.e. the bolts. Tried using the stock bolts but the threading was too coarse - needed a finer thread bolt and had to source them ASAP. The wire mesh provided by Varis for the Cooling Bonnet was flimsy, almost like chicken coop fencing, and respraying it would likely not have held up long-term. Ended up sourcing different black wire mesh.

How was the fitment of the Varis hood? I’m keen on getting it but heard hoods can be tricky if the fitment isn’t spot on.

Thanks for the welcome and support, FL5 fam 🙏

Lovely build friend. Very nice and top quality parts. Any plans for an exhaust?
Looking around atm. Toss up between Seeker Racing Spec or R1 Titan Extra, might see if I can hear them in person cos there's some in Melbourne. Each offers something different 🤔

Phew that looks good, think I need to consider sticking with 19 instead of dropping to 18! Is it stock tires?
Yes, stock tires.

I have the exact same issue at my house...
Have you tried SLIPLO? Someone mentioned it to me and it has definitely helped to preserve the front lip 👌

Scrape guard, install under your front lip/side skirts etc.,

Oh I thought it came with the mesh, is that not right?
Mesh provided by Varis is awful. Large holes, thin wire, flimsy. For such a premium product, I'm surprised they went with this.

Cool.
I'm sure many of us have needed something like this since Day 1. I certainly have.
It's sorta what I expected from your description, but I had to check the Sliplo website to "get the picture".

I may have to grab some of these. First purchase of 2026, perhaps?

Thanks.

Wow. I can see what you mean. Thanks so much. I’ll be ordering after market too for sure.
