Hasn't happened on the FL5, but it did on the FK8 I had.
I've since made sure I heated the brakes before parking by applying them hard after rain or a car wash.
My mistake.
I had both an FK8 and an FL5. That price was for a set (43022-TGH-A01) I put on the FK8.
I thought the pads were the same. Apparently, the FL5 uses a more expensive set (43022-T60-A01). No idea why.
My FL5 with a December 2024 build, didn't need the fix. A new CTR wouldn't need it either.
My wife's 2024 Civic Touring did need the fix. It was awful before getting fixed, but has been fine since.
Tire Rack has a good explanation of how these wheels need to be handled. Any shop with any experience should be able to figure it out from this.
At least they can determine whether they have the right equipment before destroying your tires/wheels...
My Honda dealer can't (won't) deal with FL5 rims.
But, they couldn't deal with FK8 rims, either. They farmed them out.
The same dealer group owns a Porsche dealership. They can do the reverse mount rims, and know what they are and what they require. I've had them do the two I needed. They didn't...
I've had a couple of A02 filters that just looked bad - the printing was fuzzy and unclear, the paint felt 'not smooth', not a good look at all.
I tossed them.
My wife thought she might like to replace her CVT Civic with something that had a 6MT. She's owned three Si-s over the years, so I looked for another one locally.
In the Northeast, there are more FL5s around than Si-s. A bit of a surprise because the '26 Si is now current.
Maybe I'm just old, or like driving too much, but I can't imagine using something like this.
As it is I turn off all the assists that come on the stock FL5.
Obviously, many people like and use the factory assists or even things like this. I'm not one of those people.
I've found other similar deals at Tire Rack. You just have to look when you think you're about to buy tires.
One recent one before this was for Bridgestone LM003 tires for about $100 each.
The tires will be a few years old from manufacture date, if that bothers you.
