They were a stop-gap solution when I couldn't get my preferred autox tire, but they are phenomenal as a street tire. Yeah, I rotated them every two autox events. So for those folks considering these tires from the OP, they're a good buy.
I ran these tires (same spec as these) for autocross, and they did fine. Not a Hoosier, but as a 200tw tire, they worked great. Wore well, too. I've retired them to street tire duty and they still have a lot of tread. I recently picked up a set sized 285/30R18 to use for autox once my...
I have to compliment you on using dashed vs solid lines that are thick enough for the colors to be seen for the dyno comparison on the MHI Stage 2 portion. Way easier to interpret than the 'mauve vs burnt orange hairline crack' typical graphs i see.
No hijacking - the Verus accommodates the J shape of the Type R jack point via a wider channel - the ZL1s' narrower channel does not. Sorry I didn't make that clearer.
Yeah, the ZL1s are the same basic thought process: they have set screws and I just keep them on the car. Mine are red, also, so they catch the eye if you're looking for them.

(SOLD) *NEW* J'S Racing Coolant Hose Kit - $185
Authentic red silicone coolant hose kit from J's Racing for the FL5 Type R, purchased from BlackHawkJapan. Purchased this as part of a build, but ended up using the Acuity reverse flow coolant hose kit since my car is...
You're a smart man, sir! Same here (except I'm making quick trips to the dyno and my tuner for an RV6 sway bar and Whiteline camber ball joints install, so it'll be parked before turkey day). I tried to become a BMW guy (I've been a member of BMW CCA for two decades), but it just wasn't me...
That wheel scraping on the barrel looks like it was damaged by some gorilla using a tire iron to get the tire bead over the wheel flange. I have those marks from a buddy who mounts tires for me on my track wheels.
I traded in my F87 on an FL5 and couldn't be happier. About the only thing I miss is the F87 was 3" shorter and 5" narrower. BMW's auto high-beam feature was better, too. On track, the FL5 has been smooth as butter compared to the M2.
I now understand why buyers ask dealers to skip the...
