Having my sides and rear done tomorrow and can’t decide if I want to do the front with maybe 70%. Anyone getting any distortion? or is it pretty clear and good visibility.

Distortion is more than likely due to quality (of films) and not really percentage of visible light transmission allowed. My opinion which isn’t worth much.

Appreciate your input .Yes I agree I’m going to see if my installer has some installed on a car I can take a look at. If I do it’ll be 70% since the UV protection is the same with the Nano Ceramic. I’m more concerned about distortion .

I have Xpel Prime XR(not the XR+) 15% all around the sides and back, 55% on the windshield.

The only time I notice tint on the windshield is if I am looking closely at an edge. Like the edge of a building and move my head side to side. My brother said he couldn't see any signs of tint on the front windshield.

The front windshield tint helps cut down high beams from other drivers and low beams from lifted trucks. Both very common in Texas

Also I would not recommend 15% on the driver and passenger front. It is dark and hard to see out of at night.

Thanks for the reply and info I’m planning on Stek Nano Ceramic 20% on the sides and rear and 70% or 45% on the windshield. I’m hoping it cuts back on glare when driving into the sun and of course protecting the Type R Red interior from turning pink.
Still on the fence about the Windshield as I’ve never done one on any of my cars .

70 front/all around, no issues. Definitely need a lens filter to show the seats would’ve been more 🤌

I thought about 70% front to get the heat rejection (even with a sun shade) but had previous experience with a 3M (forget which one) film that made lights at night wavy/starburst. It wasn't terrible, but I already have astigmatism and it drove me nuts.

Curious if it's gotten better, but probably would need to be something seen in person. Would be great if they could give you a sample glass to borrow a couple days. Lol.

Years ago many … lol same thing happened to me but no front just sides and rear . At night definitely had the starburst effect with lights. Can’t remember the tint but don’t think it was ceramic. But never happen again with any other tint . The installer told me it was because the tint hadn’t dried or cured yet . But it never did go away just not as extreme.
I’m still on the fence and my appointment is coming quickly today . Worst scenario I’ll just do the rear and sides and come back for the front if I decide to.

Why the change of heart on tint? Just last month, you were so adamant on the fishbowl look?

I am bitter dammit! I tried so hard to convince you away from the fishbowl look and a month later, you went full 360 degree tint - the full opposite of fishbowl! I felt betrayed :p
