This is why im really curious if i just got lucky or if someone made a mistake. Im curious if those with deposits down got bills of sale and had to sign off on all finance details etc.. on bill of sale, where it should have the vin it says incoming. It does show eta of 2-3 years. I just dont understand if they knew it was that long, why would they work on the finance? Very confused lolHmm, interesting. Awesome news, if you managed to secure one. It just seems odd, there’s still some on here waiting for their call, going on 2+ years now. Some dealerships were returning deposits because they couldn’t fulfill orders. Based on my own experience, I’d ask to them to tell you where you are on list at least. The rumour 2+ years strong now is we’re only getting 546 cars over 3 years and we’re nearing home stretch….
Yeah definitely follow up with them to get clear answers. Their ETA to me means it’s for the next gen Type R as far as I’m considered lol. If you look through this thread, you’ll see the how frustrating the process to get a car has been for a lot of us being on “wait lists”. I don’t want to deter you from trying to get one, but talk to that dealership. There some real BS ones out there. I was on a wait list for almost 2 years and got screwed over by my dealership. This is why im really curious if i just got lucky or if someone made a mistake. Sound like the dealer already know they’ve one incoming soon! That’s why they wanted to see if his finance go thru.Approving you for finance makes zero sense if the car is 2-3 years out as they say. Finance approval is only for a short amount of time, maybe a few weeks, before the creditor will require a new one.
But how can they allocate one with a specific colour that far in advance? I would assume that there's already one on the way for them to be so specific with the allocation no? Or does Honda just build them and paint them as they please without actual orders in?Still weird to do so far out. They’ll likely hit it again if the car is going to 2+ years out……
AFAIK the dealers have no say in which colour they receive. This is what I gather from this forum and from speaking with my sales rep. Honda is well aware the demand for this car far outweighs the supply (in Canada). Maybe they have a car on the way for you. There is a thread somewhere on here that gives information about which cargo ships carry FL5s and where they are currently located. Maybe you could check that out or ask your dealer to be straight with you.But how can they allocate one with a specific colour that far in advance?
