Update:

Despite what the GM wrote here, it either seems like the service manager didn't get the memo or this entire statement is hot air. He told the owner that he permitted allowing the techs to road test vehicles and unplug dashcams, despite agreeing with me that this was wholey against protocol and breached our trust.

NEVER service your vehicle here while this guy is in charge.
WTF??

Even if he needed to road test, if he had nothing to hide, why would he need to unplug the dash cam? Something to hide? That's ridiculous.

Might be worth switch to Fitcam X and maybe a hidden camera somewhere.

DAMN. I’m not gonna go there for my PPF Maintenance then. They might test drive it even if not needed.

Sorry to hear that bro.

I’m running FitcamX and is due for PPF maintenance there, but will still not go in there. Lol

The shitty dumbass excuse they made twice was, "oh you know, it's for the privacy of the tech." I don't give a rat's ass about the privacy of the tech if you expect me to be comfortable with some shitbird joy riding my car unsupervised on a public road.

Yeah, I plan on installing cameras and microphones whenever I have to go in again. I'm gonna begin doing everything again in my garage for the most part. Screw me for trying to give em business eh

Yeah they literally said they authorize test drives for whatever reason. Seeing how they've screwed 2 type R owners in the span of a month, I'd avoid that service dept like the plague and let everyone know to go somewhere else. Fuck em. It's a shame because the rest of the staff helped out a good bit before.

I plan on submitting a complaint to regional as well as customer relations soon. To actively defend the techs and try to justify these actions in such a short time span is unacceptable.

Now I’m wondering if Jaime will post this to his FK8/FL5 whatsapp group as the finance manager of Surrey Honda is there. ?

Apparently, they broke one of the members FK8 EVS Lips before too.

Please do, and also a negative google review as what @katch922 suggested.

I hope so. Need all type R owners to be aware of these scum at the service dept. I talked to the finance manager last time when I was picking up my compensation. He seems like a decent guy so hopefully if he's aware, he'll help us out.

Unreal. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but now this is beyond the limit.

How do you find the camera quality on the FitCam?

It’s good but man it is not a flawless experience… the app isn’t great, loses connection a lot when you try to connect while in the car and very hard to replay videos in the app. I never tried pulling the memory card out and trying on pc.

So I guess what I’m trying to say, if something happens, I’m not completely confident with FITCAMX it will be recorded. It does suggest to format the memory card every 3 months.

Never a fan of any dash cams tbh, just bought it as it is an OEM look and hides very well in the interior. + a ‘little’ bit of extra safety for insurance claims (so basically not expecting too much from it).

In terms of quality of video, Blackvue (If I remember the name correctly) is better but it’s livable specially on daylight.

As @katch922 mentioned, I agree to all of it. Phone connection is trash lol. I just remove the memory card to check if it’s still working. Haven’t reformatted the memory card since install though.

Anyone pick one of these up yet, they pretty much have it in every color and a few other flavours. I still can’t find it in Canada without having to pay 25$ usd just to ship from USA.

I'm looking for one of those as well, I'll post a link if I find a good one in Canada. Got an FK8 one for Christmas last year.
