sorry to say, but that deposit doesn't really mean anything as it's not contractual.
Ya I'm gonna try and contact them on Monday, although I think I already know the answer they're gonna give

I’ve been in contact with the dealer and they’re acting like I’m the only one interested, so that’s promising. Though it is a small dealer in a small town with a lower income base where a car like the Type R wouldn’t be a highly desirable car. Don’t get too shook up over it, if they say you’re number 1 then you’re probably number 1.

I figure if it doesn’t work out, then there’ll be other cars in the future. Or I keep my Si ??‍♂
Thanks, ya I'm in a small town in South Western ON myself. I'll call them on Monday and see if they have any updates, but doubt it.

I think the lottery was just something some of the dealers talked about so they had something to give to us annoying prospective buyers lol. The dealer that first told me that has changed their tune and are expecting 4 over 4 years (crazy considering they are fairly a big dealer) sadly I am like closer to #10 than I am to #1…so here’s hoping to people flaking out after the price is announced, or end buying something because they just can’t wait or holding out for a specific colour so I can get bumped up. Man I hope they change their tune and send Canada more of these damn things over the next few years…

Has anyone gotten back to you on pricing? 2 of my salesman at different dealerships have told me to expect it to be priced at 60kish out the door.

Not really just to expect it to be closer to the FK8 LE pricing. At least we will know for sure in the next few weeks.

My guess is 51,999 MSRP. So yes about 60k out the door, pretty reasonable with tax + interest. If your paying cash, lucky you. If you're doing some sort of 7yr financing you can add another 14k on that price. So bigger the downpayment the better.

That's my guess with pricing too. Hopefully not much more would be nice.

FWIW, PDI+Freight is $1905.. so if the car is $50,995 then with AC fee + other fees,s comes in right around 60k.
I imagine the interest rate would be around 6.4-7%.. (regular hatch is 6.39%) ..

this car will surely make some ppl turn away once pricing is announced.

My guess is 8.5% rate. My suggestion, if you're thinking of financing with Honda, try to find alternative ways, at least as a back up.

Y'know...as every day passes, I'm re-thinking whether I can spend 60k on the car. A third of me is like YES I WANT IT especially knowing its rare and limited. Another third is like, but its 60k which is quite a lot. But another third is saying it's not losing value any time soon so might as well?

Any one else feeling the same?

That thought has crossed my mind, but I've waited years to get something new so it's time. Plus the kid in me that had the EK9 Type R on his wall would be disappointed in the adult me if I didn't lol.

Exact same man. It is a lot of money but then I think this chapter of the car era is closing fast and I've worked hard and waited a long time for something special. Icing on the cake was my wife saying that if it is indeed as limited and special as you say then you can always sell it for minimal loss if it ever becomes too much. Just go for it if you can.
