those two are a waste...unless it's an m or rs car, no sense in paying that. an rs3 is better than both of those cars
Are we still playing this game of what else you can get with your money? Because it's getting old rofl. Who the fuck wants a 235 or S3... like honestly.

You're comparing a truly special car in its class (and possibly future legacy) to replacement who hell gives a crap about cars.

If I don't get a type R those aren't even on my list of things I would buy at $35k..sheesh.

Good to keep in mind folks that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder - respecting those that hold it goes a long way.

The Fk8 (and hopefully FL5) could be the rare car that never depreciates. It's already looking that way. I don't see their values going down, even with a replacement around the corner, due to supply issues.
I can’t speak for FK8 prices but I do know that 981 and 718 Caymans are on the decline. You’d think that the whole niche car market has to be doing the same. Especially the FK8’s since people are offloading them right now. My local search for Type R’s (1000km radius) went from 10-12 cars available to 20-24 once they showed the FL5.

I pass about 9-10 different FK8's every day on my normal commute. I don't really see them as a collector's car, and not worth the current asking price.
I live in Southern California and I don't see that many FK8s in a month. (Of course, I also work from home and have two small kids, so maybe it's because I don't leave my house. :p)

I've always been on the "respect is earned, not given camp" LOL. Too many morons out there. Not calling anyone a moron, just making a point here lol.

They are asking anywhere between 69k and 79k in Canada. I’d sooner buy a 911.
Brand new, undriven I'm seeing $88K CAD$ in my area for a LE. Used Im seeing $69K.

I guarantee you, once FL5's come out and in a few months those prices will come down drastically.

So just because they’re not on your list they are not allowed to be on someone else’s list?

They can be 100%, please add anything to your list. Doesnt change my opinion about where they stand in my mindset or how much I care about them lol.

What if I said "for $48K, I could buy a crap ton of cocaine and hookers or 1/10 of a helicopter ". The comparison in my mind is just as relevant. Because I don't think the 235 or S3 are even in the same league, class, or logical association as the FL5.

Maybe that's just me lol. But this whole "I can get XYZ for $ABC" just so played out, just go buy it then if that is the case.

I see your point. I think I worded my comment a tad on the aggressive side.

In my case I was originally shopping for a Cayman when prices were in the 35-40K range, then the last 18-24 months prices started climbing to 50-60k range at which point I said to myself that I can buy a brand new CTR with a warranty for that money!?

If I don’t have a CTR in my garage by March I’m probably going to move on from the Civic at that point. I already sacrificed this summer waiting and I’m not getting any younger so…

Oh man I agree 100%. I just don't know what I want to buy and hopefully keep if I don't get the R lol.

I have a very strong chance of getting the GRC, but I'm falling out of my initial love of it lol.
