I got my new lower grill installed and wanted to provide some feedback for anyone interested in making the purchase.
Here are the results:
I was not motivated by the asthetics, the main reason I wanted the install was to open up a bigger hole for my aftermarket intercooler. To that end, the company sent 2 glossy side pieces for the outer lower trim (#2 below) they are overlays and not replacements. If I want to use them it would take double sided tape or glue. I am still undecided. Otherwise the fit is perfect.
The install: if you have removed the front bumper before and are comfortable doing so I rate this project at 1/10 in difficult IOW it's easy. If you are not experienced with removing the bumper it's more like a 4/10 difficulty.
PRL and 27Won have good instructions out there for removing the front bumper: if you haven't before, use them. One tip for removing the bumper: the wheel well plastic clips deteriorate very fast and break easy. I don't know if that is because those particular clips use inferior plastic or if it's just the environment in the wheel well. I ended up breaking them all getting them out, so I suggest having spares on hand. By contrast the undercarriage plastic clips have held up well and all came out just as easily as the first time.
Once you get the bumper off you have to remove the inner air duct #1 (3 screws and 2 plastic clips) and the lower outer trim piece #2 (2 plastic clips on the bottom).
After that remove the 2 inner screws for the center lower grill and 4 plastic clips on the bottom. Then you can remove the grill itself. Sorry, I don't have pictures for these steps but it will be very obvious once you get the bumper off.
Yes, I know my car needs a wash.
