I installed a fire extinguisher bracket. I used the OEM bolts but they are a bit too short since the bracket ads a good 10mm so need to get new bolts.

Does anyone know the size of the bolts? both in length and pitch? I read that its an M10 with 1.25 fine thread? Is this correct? Also what is the length of the oem bolt?

I torqued to 32ftlb because that is what the FK8 seems to be, same on FL5?

This is the one I got. Nicely built and got here real quick from australia (shipping was 18 bucks I think which is not bad). I am using it with an element extinguisher but works with full size one as well which I might get eventually. I did cut my mat (rubber mat) just because I want to be able to easily remove it to clean it, the bracket sits pretty flush to the floor. I can take a picture later.

Looks good. Ya pls take few pics of it mounted on your car. Thanks.

Also I read that it comes with bolts and washers. How come you did not use those?

Comes with bolts and washers to mount the extinguisher to the bracket not rail bolts.

I messaged kap and they agree with my assessment that oem bolts work but probably safer to get 10mm more thread in there. Ill remove the bolts this week and measure them and then update here. Will also take pictures, it works, mounts and looks great

Bolts look to be M10x1.25 fine thread (ordered some and will test. They are aprox 30mm in length so ordered 35mm and 40mm. Looking at how much thread goes in, new bolts are definitely a must.

I need to cut the mat a little better, just countour around the floor moulding a bit better, this is with seat almost all the way back though and with that tiny estinguisher which I will replace with a proper on seeing how apparently these elements are crap

Got some bolts and they went in perfectly. This bracket 100% needs new bolts, OEM are just too short after I measure stuff. I went with 40mm bolts but I think 35mm might work too (I ordered both so if someone needs 35mm ones lmk - I got em from https://belmetric.com/, nice site, shipping a bit expensive but good quality stuff and these are very hard to find in black). Also glad to not have to deal with torx bolts for these, normal torx T50 feels very flimsy on the OEM bolt, I used a TP50 instead of a T50, much better and was glad that I had TP bits around.

So for future knowledge

OEM Bolt is M10x1.25 fine thread 30mm lengh (thread on it is a bit less because head of bolt is threadless). T50 head (recommend using a TP50 bit to get it out). I used the torque specs of the FK8 which is 32 ft/lb.

Glad I could help. I just went back to KAPs site and disappointed they have not updated their page to recommend longer bolts, the OEM bolts really are too short and should be changed to longer bolts

I still need to get a proper extinguisher, which one are you going with?

Yea I get that, I'll have to use the oem bolts for now but I've ordered some allen bolts from Boltmetric per your recommendation. I should be getting those soon tho.

I went with this fire extinguisher it's ABC Rated and it's also sold with the vehicle mounting bracket.
