Can Honda Sensing be turned off and if so, will it "stay" off or does it have to be turned off everytime you turn on the car? The features of Honda Sensing I am looking at not using are LKAS, RDM, and CMBS. Also, I'm not sure if it has it, but does it remember the auto stop start setting as well? Finally, the auto revmatching. Can it also be turned off and the setting remembered as well?

Everything can be turned off and stays off, except auto engine off which turn back on when you restart the car, although the engine off doesn’t happen in sport mode so it’s not too bad

Wait, so you're saying it remembers the fact that you disabled the driver aids on restart? If so, that's good news for me!

All good! I've just seen various arguments on forums about these things go way out of hand.

I think the only reason auto start is active on every start is because of the EPA ratings. I'll probably use sport when I get my car but we'll see how it feels.
At least it's not as bad as the manual v6 camaro though. That thing would lock you out of gears for better economy ratings when upshifting and required a tune to remove.

Some of the safety features can save your life in the right situation, as proud as any of us might be. I've been accident free for 39 years but I still want some safety features even if they can be irritating at times.

VSA helped me catch the rear end of my WRX a few months ago as I was on a slippery road and tires were not optimal. It kept me from crossing the yellow line on a tight curve that day. It can help the same way on winter snow covered roads, I love when the car brakes one rear wheel to keep the car from sliding.

I also like when the car will pressurize the brake lines as it detects you approaching a vehicle ahead , when you touch the brakes they are really responsive and ready to grab, saving your a fraction of a second.

The rear vehicle cross traffic monitoring is pretty cool when reversing in situations with limited visibility.

Every once and a while you hear of parents accidentally running over their children when reversing. I had a very bad scare about 15 years ago when I thought my son was in the car but he was actually walking behind the vehicle. Luckily my wife screamed at me to stop reversing or it could have ended very badly. The Civic's safety systems can prevent that. Auto braking can be irritating at times but it can certainly save you in a tight situation. I'd rather have them than not.
