A few weeks ago, someone hit my FL5 with a push lawnmower, leaving a few paint chips that went down to the bare metal.
I didn’t want insurance involved, and the body shop estimated $800 to fix it properly, so I decided to try my hand at the paint pen repair.
I applied two coats of the NH0 paint with the brush instead of the pen, then applied a single top coat using the foam brush provided. Gave everything a few hours to dry (instead of the 30 minutes on the box) in between coats, since it’s in the 30s up here in MA, and I wanted to make sure everything set correctly.
I did have one misstep where I tried to wipe the clear coat off to reapply it, but it took the paint with it, so I had to redo everything for a second time.
I think it came out pretty well, all things considered.
