I changed the rear pads on my FK8, but just got the FL5, only have 40 miles on it and am swapping to paragon rotors for the weight savings.
If I am keeping the pads, is it possible to use the caliper expansion tool to open up the caliper, leave the pads in the caliper, and then remove the caliper from the rotor? This way I won't need to regrease the pins etc?
I'm also curious if it will be necessary to release the ebrake with the scan tool/app as the pads won't be changing?
WIth 40 miles, is it still necessary to give the surface of the pads a light sand so they'll mate properly?
Thanks for answering these very basic questions! I watched a few videos but wasn't sure of these items.
