There are a lot of things you can do to try and prevent car thefts but at the end of the day if they really want it. They're gonna take it
I agree, if they want it, they'll find a way to get it. That's ok, there are lots of other cars out there that I haven't tried, but Lord willing, I'll hang onto the Type R and enjoy it as long as I can. :headbang:

It's a given, tow truck / car jack but couple measures can deter thieves so they will move on to the next car.

11th Gen Honda Civic How confident are you about the security system on the Type R? OBD2Blocker

I bought a plastic OBD2 port blocker off eBay, but plastic clip engagement was insufficient. I made a steel clip from a curtain rod bracket and it is now attached securely. The steel clip hooks the car's steel bracket.
Plastic clip above vs. steel below. Not fancy, but it works.

.... and a serious anti-theft system (like IGLA - don't know if you can get this in the US).
But even with all of this, they can bring a flatbed truck and take the car. You might be able to find it with the Airtags/Lowjack...
Our IGLA installs include the Compustar Drone. It's a subscription (with Tax about $5/month).
When car is pulled (IGLA immobilized transmission, unable to drive) onto a flatbed and 12v battery disconnected, the App alerts and shows a Live Map for location with a separate lithium battery built into the drone. Can track location for up to 36 hours depending on how often it is pinged.

Arrive at location with police and pickup stolen car - that simple.

Sadly the police probably aren’t going to prioritize getting your car back even if you have the location. At least not in my area.

My type s was stolen last week. Unfortunately police do not take it as a priority. I even shared the location of the hidden airtag with detectives. They didn’t go looking for the car until a few days later and by that time the AirTags was found and thrown to the side of the road . Also my fault for not having any theft protection. They removed the key lock behind the door handle and made their own digital key via the obd2 port to take the car . I had both keys in my possession. The car was recently recovered but it’s been a nightmare . It happened to be joyriders , they even put gas in my car . The car is a mess inside in out but no physical damage besides some minor things and I can tell the brakes have been heavily used . I had my keys reprogrammed and rove it yesterday, luckily the only thing that seems to be not working is the am/fm radio as the battery was disconnected and the radio code is gone from my glove box . Weird bc it’s not asking me for a code , I just can’t get am/fm to register . I’m deciding what to do now via insurance , I may not pursue it further and just try to take a loss and trade it for a fl5 . If that happens I will get a alarm and kill switch immediately along with a club and obd2 port lock . Tracking doesn’t matter as it seems to be useless to police anyway in my case .
