Hey all! So I’ve been the innovator over the past three years when it comes to the TLX Type S. I’ve developed parts for that car with several companies and took it to the Xtreme. I track the car and shaved about 400 pounds off of it. It’s a Big, long, sort of heavy, beast!

but, with some potential transmission issues down the line and wiring harness issues down the line that would cost tens of thousands of dollars in repairs out of warranty, I decided not to buy the car off lease and decided to pick up my dream car!!

A brand new FL5 type R! Been wanting one of these for as long as I can remember, and I’m 60 now lol

Was trying to find something JDM or something just older and fun but, after pulling my hair out for a month, I just decided to do this.

So far? I sort of drove once coming home in partial snow lol which it does not like with these tires but working on that now, already started the upgrades.

Keep you all posted!

Already starting the 'mods' lol....Raceang titanium lugnuts got swapped over and 5mm spacers. A set of 275/35-19 vredestein rubber (for 'winter') are on the way and a acuity oil filler cap! hey, it's a start!

Welcome. Curious if the car still feels quick compared to the AWD TLX Type S.

Make sure that those titanium lug nuts are the same seat style as stock. You can’t use cone style lug nuts on factory wheels. The factory lug nuts are an acorn style seat.

Yeah, I know, I built cars. But thanks for the heads up. I have titanium rings that are conical ball seat. It’s a pain in the butt, but it works. And I have new wheels being made now so…

I’ve only driven it once in the frosty cold Cleveland climate. So I can’t really get a feel for it because everything is salty and frosty and cold and snowy lol but on the freeway, I was in sixth year and I just stepped on it in comfort mode and the thing is just fast!

The problem? I have mid 400 hp in the TLX… And believe me coming to work today I’m going to miss the all wheel drive system on that thing. But it’s a big heavy car. It is heavily modified and stupid fast.

And almost two seconds faster in the quarter mile right now. But I’m going to add a little flare to the type r.
