My FL5 Build Overview
I wanted to share some details about the ongoing build of my FL5, which has been a passion project for me. I'm excited about the modifications I've done so far and the ones I'm planning in the near future. Here's a breakdown of the parts I've installed and the upgrades I've made.
PRL Charge Pipe and Intercooler
To start with, I’ve installed the PRL charge pipe and intercooler. These components have made a significant difference in performance, enhancing airflow and improving cooling efficiency.
PRL High Volume Intake (HVI)
Next up, I’ve added the PRL High Volume Intake (HVI). This intake system has really opened up the car’s breathing capabilities, allowing for better throttle response and a noticeable increase in horsepower. The sound it produces is also a great bonus!
Hasport Rear Motor Mount
To ensure all that power gets transferred effectively to the wheels, I’ve installed a Hasport rear motor mount. This upgrade has significantly reduced engine movement, resulting in a more solid feel when accelerating and shifting gears.
Hybrid Racing Short Shifter
Shifting gears has never been smoother thanks to the Hybrid Racing short shifter. This upgrade has provided a much more direct and precise shift feel, making each gear change feel more satisfying and controlled.
Custom Inlet Pipe, Downpipe, and Front Pipe from Innovative
I've also had a custom inlet pipe, downpipe, and front pipe installed, all sourced from Innovative.
PRL Strut Bars (Front and Rear)
For added chassis rigidity, I’ve installed PRL strut bars on both the front and rear.
Zestek Steering Wheel Hub
I’ve installed a Zestek steering wheel hub. This hub provides a more responsive and precise steering feel, which is essential for spirited driving and track days. And to be honest i like it because it looks good.
Upcoming
HEL Oil Cooler
To ensure my engine stays at optimal temperatures , I’ve ordered a HEL oil cooler. For reducing oil temperatures and preventing overheating. It’s a crucial addition for maintaining performance and engine longevity, especially on the track.
Turbo Upgrade: MHI Stage 2
Lastly, I’m planning a major upgrade with the installation of an MHI Stage 2 turbo. This will be the next big step in the build.
