My 23’ currently has the seat frame recall. I’m a bit tired of hearing it crack every time I make a turn. I’ve reached out to two separate Honda dealers about ordering one to get the recall done. They ghost me. Not sure why but they never get around to me on this and I’m over constantly hitting them up about it. I honestly feel they just don’t wanna deal with it and I don’t want to take my car to the dealer anyway. Don’t trust them to not completely tear up my interior taking the seat out.

So, two options. Purchase an oem one and do it myself. It’s $500 from the dealer though which is ridiculous for a defect the car came with. I’ve reached out to Honda about reimbursement if I purchase one on my own and they weren’t too confident that they would but wouldn’t give me a for sure answer. Or, buy an aftermarket one.

Does anyone know of a good aftermarket seat frame option that will fit the oem seat?

on a side note, my Si's seat seems to have some play in the lower seat back. looked up a diagram and looks like there's springs in the back that may need to be greased. kind of annoying how cheap these seats feel once they get some wear on them.

It's a full-on safety recall, so Honda will fix it for free. If you haven't already, I recommend visiting the dealer in person. Show the service writer the recall notice.

This is an older recall, so the service department already knows how to swap out the parts. You can call Honda of America if you need more help, but probably not needed.

In theory a dealer cannot sell a car with open safety recalls, so the fix needs to be officially recorded.

I know Honda will take care of it but I’ve been getting the run around from multiple dealers around me. I went to one in person (literally a year ago) and they said they would call me when the part came in. Haven’t heard back. Another dealer I called and they said they would order it and lmk when it’s ordered and haven’t heard back in months.
I haven’t been too pushy about it cause I honestly dread taking my car to the dealer in fear they’ll fuck up my car trying to fix these recalls. scratched wheels, destroyed interior plastics etc. I’m to the point where I may just buy the seat frame and swap it out myself honestly. Sucks it costs $500 though.
