Noticed a noise when clutching in to shift from 1st to 2nd gear and a tiny bit from 2nd to 3rd. was looking at my engine and revved it a bit in neutral and heard the same noise. Sounds like a bearing in the tensioner. Only have 2000 miles on my 2023 Si.
i'm not sure i can even hear it when the engine is cold but once the engine gets hot, it gets louder. put my finger on the tensioner pulley bearing and it's very hot. which i think might be normal considering it's right next to the hot engine block, turbo, and exhaust manifold...but could the heat make the bearing more prone to failure? it's like the beginning of a bad bearing sound. not bad at all, but concering none the less. kinda sounds like sand in the bearing or something. no loud screeching yet. or maybe it's the infamous PCV noise.
anyone else have a noisy tensioner? Bad bearing? Need to be bled per the service manual?
anyways, got a dealer appointment tomorrow. just wondering if i should have them check anything else.
