This is a little nutty — technically I found a Civic Type R under MSRP! :)

I bought it from a dealership in MS and I'll it shipped to me. Initially, they listed it at $5k over MSRP. I told the sales guy I wasn't interested, but he said he'd see if he could do better. The next day, he called back with a new offer at MSRP. I mentioned the shipping cost was more than I expected, so they knocked off another $400.

I could've pushed them more, but now we are talking about a couple of hundred dollars, so happy with the turnout. I should have it by the end of next week.

Thanks to everyone for the support and suggestions
Was it Patty Peck Honda? That's where I got my Boost Blue. Shipping was an absolute nightmare though. Told myself I would never do it again.

I chose Boost Blue and bought it from Bob Boyte Honda. Buying out of state can be nerve-wracking, but they have solid ratings. My previous out-of-state purchases have been flawless, so fingers crossed this one goes smoothly too.

Even if I found a dealer in Dallas or Houston, I'd still have it shipped to Austin. So, spending a bit more on shipping from MS is fine with me.

It takes a lot of extra effort to find a dealer willing to sell at MSRP and without overpriced add-ons.
