I just purchased the 2025 Type R. I’m a former mechanic and currently a truck driver located near St Louis Missouri. Any ideas of things to look out for? Recalls to be aware of? When it comes to break in oil changes, what mileages for each one should I look for? I thought 100 miles, 500 miles, 1,000 miles and then from there every 3,000 miles? Any cool or needs mods to better something?

I have 88 miles and I read something about an aftermarket rear motor mount and transmission mount for better efficiency and performance. But this is a pic from 10-5-25. It’s by far the fastest car I’ve driven and owned. It definitely has some get up and go power. Very satisfied with my purchase. I told the sales man if I hit the lottery he better order me a couple more lol.

RMM is nice. PRL and Wunderladen are very popular and quality pieces.

if you want to change your driving experience even further, buy and install the Acuity 4-way adjustable gear shift. I bought one the day it was released, then let it set around for way too much time, and finally installed it. Dayuuuum it’s amazing compared to the stock plastic unit (that I thought was pretty nice) that our cars came with.
Enjoy your new sports car.

The manual recommends doing the first oil change at 5,000 miles, but I changed mine at 1,000 miles, totally up to you. The second one is usually every 5,000 miles after, but since I track my car, I go by track days instead. I typically change the oil every 3–5 track days, depending on how hot the sessions were.

As for mods, it really depends on your goals. If you’re not planning to track the car, some simple bolt ons and lowering springs are more than enough. If it’s mainly a daily, I’d honestly keep it stock. Coilovers ride or lowering springs are stiffer than R mode.

I think there is a steering gearbox assembly recall. (improper manufacturing of the worm gear / worm wheel, including excessive friction due to poor greasing and/or a spring preload being set too high.)
