I've had this buzzing sound for a while now, but recently it's gotten a lot worse. Happens when the engine is warm and doesn't matter if I'm on or off the throttle. I've also been able to recreate the sound in neutral revving the engine - just can't figure out where it's coming from. Only happens in 1st and 2nd gear between 2500 to 3000 RPM. This video was right at 2500 RPM 2nd gear. Anyone know what this could be? Scanner showed no codes. I do have a few mods. Intake, turbo pipe, intercooler.

Does yours sound like it's coming from the rear? Mine sounds like it's coming from the engine bay, buy I could be wrong.

I know I'm a bit late to the party but did you ever find the cause of this buzzing?

I haven't 100% nailed it down. I can rule out the fuel pump however. Ktuner data shows normal short and long fuel trims. I've taken off and re-tightened every bolt-on to no avail. I'm fairly certain at this point that it's the exhaust or the heat shield on the cat that's loose or something. I haven't gotten around to taking off the entire exhaust yet - just dealing with the noise for now. If I ever confirm the issue, I'll be sure to update the thread.

You have the same sound? Does it get louder the warmer the car is?

I believe I do. Just started to notice it not too long ago, currently at ~5.600 miles.
I can't exactly pin point it 100% but I wanna say it is definitely coming from the dash or behind the dash. After looking around in various forums, the potential causes can be either a loose heat shielding or may be something in the horizontal vents. I don't think mine gets louder though.

Mine doesnt make it at all when I first drive the car on a cold start. After about 10 minutes of driving it kicks in all of a sudden and makes the noise around 2500 RPM. That's what leads me to believe its the heat shield - as it warms up it starts vibrating.

I'm not sure if you have any mods yet, but you could try taking it to Honda. I took mine in and they said they couldn't find it and just blamed the mods...but I've had these mods for well over a year now.

Actually, I think you're right. I was at the dealership this week to get my driver side window replaced and afterwards, I mentioned the buzzing. A tech hopped in the car with me, but, of course, it wasn't producing the buzzing noise... After about 5 ~ 10 mins into my drive back home, lo and behold, buzzing started to creep up around 3500 RPM and continues to buzz til 4000 RPM, then fades off once I go above 4000 RPM.

Oh btw, currently running stock. I might make an actual appointment for them to investigate it further for me.

Definitely make an appointment and make them fix it. It's gotten much worse with the hot weather, but I dont feel like pulling the whole exhaust lol.

If the dealer can figure it out, please let me know!

Took a video of my buzzing sound for reference.
